Position Summary...What you'll do...About the Team:Our team is assigned to investigate a broad range of sensitive and complex matters for the company. The team is tasked to conduct and examine issues objectively and leverage investigative techniques and advanced analytics to appropriately report the facts. The team is comprised of a broad group of individuals that collectively work toward supporting the company's mission. Walmart is seeking a Director for Workplace investigations who has a strong knowledge base of overseeing, conducting and/or managing internal associate relations investigations. The Director of Workplace investigations will need to be a motivated team player with a keen ability to effectively manage a team of investigators and managers.What you'll bring...• Strong understanding and experience overseeing, conducting and/or managing internal investigations that can help identify or mitigate risk.• Managed a team of high performing individuals who are responsible for conducting a wide range of internal investigations.• Possesses key leadership skills, adaptable to a dynamic work environment, strong communication and influential abilities, can build strong relationships within the team and cross-functional organizations.• Is passionate to serve and help others grow, a great listener, and adapts well to change.• Experience handling workplace related matters such as discrimination and harassment concerns.What you'll do...• Oversees the standardization of investigative processes and procedures by developing processes for new investigative reports, systems, and operating guidelines; aligning all investigative processes to a global standard to drive consistency and quality; developing governance documents for investigative processes (for example, evidence collection and handling); ensuring compliance with identified standards; and communicating new and updated processes and procedures to investigative teams.• Identifies investigative trends and provides solutions for potential systemic threats, vulnerabilities, and risks to (for example, workplace employment, regulatory & policy) by researching relevant customer, industry, and technical matters and documenting findings; interviewing business owners to determine areas of vulnerability and deliverables; planning and obtaining approval for proactive strategies in Global Investigations; utilizing trend analysis to identify needed resources and applying them as necessary; and collaborating with response teams (for example, ethics, compliance, labor employment and relations) to identify and quantify potential liability and vulnerability• Develops internal and external relationships by identifying business owners and establishing relationships; collaborating with international investigative partners to grow investigative capabilities and alignment; assisting business partners (for example, Human Resources, ethics, labor & legal teams) with requests; meeting with business unit customers to discuss metrics, new projects, and program roll-outs; consulting on potential risks and vulnerabilities of products, services, and processes; and working with internal (for example, Ethics, Compliance, Legal) or external (for example, Department of Labor) teams on investigative development• Oversees global investigations of complex matters with significant impact to the company (for example, alleged internal and external workplace concerns, company reputational harm, labor regulatory practices) by receiving allegations from a variety of channels and assigning cases to investigators; reviewing the investigative strategy that directs investigations; presenting findings to business unit and business partners; identifying vulnerabilities and recommending process refinements; reviewing and editing reports and evidence files for courtroom presentations; testifying to findings and investigative processes; and presenting significant investigative updates to senior leaders.• Provides overall direction by analyzing business objectives and customer needs; developing, communicating, building support for, and implementing business strategies, plans, and practices; analyzing costs and forecasts and incorporating them into business plans; determining and supporting resource requirements; evaluating operational processes; measuring outcomes to ensure desired results; identifying and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; promoting a customer environment; and demonstrating adaptability and sponsoring continuous learning.• Develops and implements strategies to attract and maintain a highly skilled and engaged workforce by diagnosing capability gaps; recruiting, selecting, and developing talent; supporting mentorship, workforce development, and succession planning; and leveraging the capabilities of new and existing talent.• Cultivates an environment where associates respect and adhere to company standards of integrity and ethics by integrating these values into all programs and practices; developing consequences for violations or non-compliance; and supporting the Open Door Policy.• Develops and leverages internal and external partnerships and networks to maximize the achievement of business goals by sponsoring and leading key community outreach and involvement initiatives; engaging key stakeholders in the development, execution, and evaluation of appropriate business plans and initiatives; and supporting associate efforts in these areas.The above information has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed in the role.
