Main Purpose of the Role


Welocalize is looking for an English into French freelance linguist with experience in the field of Medical Devices for an ongoing copyediting and machine translation post editing project for a leading health care and life sciences provider. The project main focus will be on medical devices related documents.


This is an on-going freelance and remote position with an expected weekly words volume of 5k-10k. No minimum volume capacity is required as we are happy to collaborate together depending on your availability.

Location: Remote

Expected Volume: 5k-10k words per week

Start date: ASAP

Employment Type: Freelance/Independent Contract

Task type: Copyediting and MTPE

Content types: Medical Devices -Technical documents (User manuals, instructions for use)

CAT Tool: XTM/Phrase


For this role, we are looking for someone with the following requirements:
  • Minimum three years' experience copyediting and machine translation post editing content in the specified subject matter area or vertical: Medical Devices -Technical documents (User manuals, instructions for use)
  • Excellent knowledge of English and French languages
  • Experience using CAT tools
  • Translation degree or, if other degree, 2 years of translation experience or, if no degree, 5 years of translation experience
