General Maintenance Technician - HVAC Specialist II (Fort Campbell)

WinnCompanies is searching for a General Maintenance Technician - HVAC Specialist II to join our military housing team at Fort Campbell, KY.


In this role, you will perform maintenance functions in the community, including rental units, office buildings, residential areas, grounds, and parking lots. You will maintain and repair our building structures and associated mechanical, electrical, plumbing, sanitary systems, HVAC systems and equipment.


Responsibilities
  • Identify, diagnose, repair, and complete advanced troubleshooting to repair HVAC systems and parts.
  • Diagnose HVAC issues, such as no heat or no air, as well as air flow, temperature variations, and zones. 
  • Rebuild duct work. 
  • Understand pressures and system capabilities, including freon.  
  • Replace commonly-used parts in HVAC systems.
  • Complete replacement of full HVAC systems.
  • Respond to service calls to complete service/COM work and property management requirements.
  • Complete repairs as directed by immediate supervisor or other organization management representatives.
  • Transport, install, and connect stoves, refrigerators, dishwashers, and other electrical and gas appliances.
  • Transport equipment, furnishings and appliances to job sites.
  • Load and unload trucks.
  • Respond to and complete on-call after hours emergency and urgent repairs. 
  • Operate power tools and power equipment.
  • Update work order status, including time, materials, and notes on mobile devices provided accurately and timely.
  • Keep supervisor well-informed of activities, results, and potential problems, while recommending corrective actions to supervisor.
  • Work cooperatively and conduct oneself professionally when in contact with customers, staff, contractors, monitors, and the public.


Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of HVAC experience.
  • A current driver's license in good standing and ability to meet the driving records standards outlined in the Company Safe Vehicular Operations Policy.
  • HVAC license.
  • Direct experience with residential split systems, gas and electric furnaces, and heat pump systems.
  • Ability to wire schematics and make accurate entire system diagnoses.
  • Knowledge of mechanical refrigeration.
  • Proficiency at carpentry, electrical, plumbing, flooring, or appliances.
  • Ability to provide basic tools and equipment necessary to perform daily duties.
  • Basic familiarity with computers and web-based applications.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to read and write in English, in order to understand basic instructions and take direction from supervisors.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work.
  • Availability for on-call activity within a rotational schedule for urgent needs.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Vocational or technical training.
  • Geothermal HVAC experience.
  • EPA certification.
