TEAM

The Toyota Woven City is a fully connected ecosystem to be built at the base of Mt. Fuji in Japan. It is envisioned as a ‘living laboratory’, ‘ever-evolving’ and ‘human-centric,’ incorporating different types of the latest technologies. 


The Toyota Woven City contains multiple key strategic focus areas and smart home is one of the themes to be covered. 


In this project, we are planning to deploy cutting edge products powered by both software and hardware technology.


You will report to the Sub lead of the Info-Mobility Team and you will enjoy a flexible hybrid work setup.


WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR

This is an exciting opportunity where we invent new value for our customers through smart home and mobility products. We are looking for an experienced Program Manager who can work with UX designers and Engineers to develop best-in-class products. 


Your role involves coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to lead product development. You will also manage outsourced resources to align projects with user experience principles, balancing realistic and ideal outcomes.


RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Create software and hardware requirements and work with Engineering through development and operations
  • Develop project scopes and objectives, ensuring delivery and identifying/managing any risks 
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders (including Toyota Motors) to collaborate on product development activities and lead synergy across the organization


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 5+ years of experience in planning a new business or project/product management
  • 3+ years of experience working in the software and/or hardware field 
  • Demonstrated adaptability to evolving roles with a proactive approach to change, including experience in fast-paced environments like startups where roles shift with company and product growth
  • Strong communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills
  • Business Level English and Japanese


NICE TO HAVES:
  • PMP or other Project/Program Management certifications
  • Experience in development of product/service combined with hardware and software (GPS, Home security)
  • Experience working in the automobile or related industry
  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Marketing, Business Administration or relevant field is a plus
