Come join a Top Workplaces organization!We are looking for a Scrum Master with Hardware Engineering experience to join the Zivaro team and work at our northern Colorado Springs office! This position will help contribute to our Mission Engineering team environment with other systems, software and specialty engineers to develop solutions that include a background in all aspects of the systems engineering life cycle. You will be part of a talented team of engineers that demonstrate superb technical competency, delivering mission critical infrastructure and ensuring the highest levels of availability, performance and security.Responsibilities• Scrum/Kanban leadership:• Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and other Scrum ceremonies• Guide and coach the Scrum team in Agile best practices, fostering continuous improvement• Remove obstacles that may hinder team progress and ensure timely delivery of sprint goals• Work closely with Product Owners and stakeholders to define and prioritize the backlog• Requirements Gathering & Documentation:• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze business requirements for hardware products• Assist the Product Owner in converting business and technical requirements into detailed epics, user stories, and use cases• Assist product owners in keeping the product backlog refined• Ensure clear and concise documentation, acting as the bridge between business needs and development efforts• Hardware Development Oversight:• Work closely with hardware engineers, software developers, and other team members to ensure that the development process integrates both hardware and software components seamlessly• Maintain relevant team metrics• Regularly interact with IT management, product owners, product managers and other scrum masters on status, priority setting, and department-wide efforts• Monitor and adjust processes to fit the specific needs of hardware development, which may differ from purely software-focused projects• Cross-functional Collaboration:• Lead cross-functional situational awareness, being the first to notice misalignment and issues as they arise and escalate as needed• Facilitate communication across diverse teams to ensure alignment on objectives and timelines• Continuous Improvement:• Identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance team efficiency and productivity• Champion the use of Agile methodologies in hardware development and continuously refine practices to align with organizational goalsQualifications• 5-8 years of relevant experience• Previous Scrum Master with strong experience in gathering requirements, creating epics and use cases, and managing development teams for hardware products• The ideal candidate will have a background in both software and hardware development, with a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in the delivery of complex hardware devices, using Agile methodologies• Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent Agile certification• 5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master, preferably in hardware product development environments• Proven experience in gathering requirements, writing epics, and creating detailed use cases for hardware and software integration• Solid understanding of the hardware development lifecycle, from concept through production• Strong knowledge of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, etc.) and the ability to adapt them to hardware development projects• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including engineering, product management, and QA• Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to manage stakeholder expectations and foster a collaborative team environment• Familiarity with project management tools such as Jira, Gitlab, or ConfluenceEducation & Certifications• Bachelor of Science preferred• Minimum Secret Clearance• U.S. Citizenship is required for most positions at Zivaro, due to security clearance and government/federal contracts held by Zivaro. $130,000 - $170,000 a yearBenefits: Benefit offerings include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, flexible spending accounts, paid holidays, flexible PTO program, 401k program.
