The incumbent in this position is responsible for observing and monitoring Casino operations in order to ensure compliance with Seminole Tribal Gaming Commission (STGC) approved policies and procedures, Tribal Internal Control Standards (TICS), as well as any state compacts and/or federal regulations. The agent is responsible for conducting daily routine observation of activities that occur on the gaming floor, including identifying procedural infractions and/or criminal activity. The individual notifies management and supervisors of any/all suspicious activities and/or irregular circumstances and any other special observation request. The incumbent documents procedural infractions incurred by Casino personnel. This position reports to the STGC Surveillance Manager or Supervisor and is a non-exempt position.

Observes and monitors Casino operations in order to identify violations of STGC approved policies and procedures, TICS, or to identify theft of Tribal assets. Maintains constant surveillance throughout the Casino, looking to identify irregularities or illegal gaming activities. Monitors the transfer of Casino chips, cash and funds allocated within the Casino as required. Reports to the Supervisor and documents any suspicious activities and/or irregular circumstances occurring on the Casino floor, including infractions incurred by Casino personnel. Maintains daily activity report and completes incident reports to note relevant information including but not limited to irregular customer behavior, theft, or procedural errors made by Casino personnel. Ensures the integrity of the Casino by monitoring and ensuring compliance of gaming machines, covered banked table games, cash operations, and other pertinent Casino departments. Shares all pertinent information with the all shifts in regards to any suspicious and/or irregular activity occurred during their shift.
In the event of an emergency, reports all suspicious or unusual activity to the relevant casino individuals. Provides pertinent information to Seminole Police Department (SPD), Fire Department, or Emergency Medical Teams when necessary. Assist with the training and/or mentoring of new employees as needed or directed. Adheres to all Seminole Tribe of Florida policies and procedures. Adheres to the rules and regulations as set by the STGC and works within the guidelines of the TICS. Performs additional related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Interest in Seminole Tribe of Florida history, culture and operations. Knowledge of the National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC) regulations and the Seminole Tribal Gaming Ordinance, Tribal Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS), STGC Gaming Code and other procedures and standards. Basic/entry level knowledge of principles and practices of surveillance procedures. Basic/entry level knowledge of principles and practices of Casino Gaming procedures. Basic/entry level knowledge of criminal offenses and the regulations concerning Tribal Gaming. Ability to maintain visual attention and mental concentration for significant periods of time. Ability to gather data, analyze, and compile information to prepare clear and concise reports. Ability to detect problems, issues and report information to appropriate personnel. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Must be able to operate computers, cameras, monitors, radios and other surveillance equipment used in the performance of their tasks. Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques. Ability to work independently with little or no supervision. Ability to travel to all STOF Reservations and other locations as necessary. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers and monetary values. Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with Tribal Members, employees, vendors, and the general public. Ability to serve the STOF public and fellow employees with honesty and integrity in accordance with established rules and procedures.
High School diploma or equivalent GED required. A minimum of three (3) years of experience working with computers, surveillance cameras and monitors, recording devices and/or hand held communication devices is preferred. Previous Commission, Surveillance, and/or Gaming experience is preferred. Additional relevant experience and education will be considered. Knowledge of criminal offenses and the regulations concerning Tribal Gaming is required. Ability to maintain visual attention and mental concentration for significant periods of time is required. Demonstrate the ability to prepare organized and clear reports. Ability to obtain and maintain an effective working knowledge of the National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC) regulations and the Seminole Tribal Gaming Ordinance, Tribal Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS), and other procedures and standards is required. Ability to meet standards established in order to obtain and maintain active the Employee Gaming License, is required. Ability to travel to all STOF Reservations and to work a flexible schedule including evenings, nights, weekends and holidays is required. Due to the nature of the business, all applicants must be 21 years of age or older.
PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe position requires the incumbent to perform moderate physical activity. Requires the handling/lifting/carrying of objects up to 15 pounds. Requires standing, walking and/or sitting for more than four (4) hours at a time per day. Requires the ability to maintain visual attention and mental concentration for significant periods of time.
