Job Description

The Head of Marketing role for the CREON brand offers an exceptional opportunity for ambitious candidates eager to step into a high-responsibility position within a supportive and dynamic culture. Drives marketing strategy and execution. Leads and develops the marketing team and co-leads the Integrated Brand Team (IBT).  Amplifies a positive and inclusive culture, builds high performing teams, and facilitates effective stakeholder alignment and execution.  Partners with cross functional teams on financial planning, P&L oversight, marketing mix optimizations to achieve financial goals and positively impact patients’ lives.  

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and Drive Marketing Strategy: Create, implement, and adjust comprehensive marketing strategies to drive market, share, volume and sales growth, while aligning with business objectives across the GIC portfolio.  Oversees omni-channel disease state and branded promotion across professional and consumer audiences and enables salesforce effectiveness. 

  • Lead and Develop the Marketing Team: Mentor and coach a high-performing team, fostering collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.  Infuse AbbVie’s Ways of Working and Talent Philosophy to elevate marketing capabilities and accelerate talent. 

  • Lead Cross-Functional Collaboration: Co-lead Integrated Brand Teams and collaborate across the enterprise to execute against critical brand strategic imperatives and long-term initiatives. Effectively communicate and influence stakeholders to achieve objectives.  

  • Leverage Data and Market Insights: Utilize data analytics, market trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs to inform strategic decisions and drive business results. Leverage brand expertise, and business and financial acumen to anticipate market changes and inform strategic life cycle management decisions. 

  • Exhibit P&L Accountability: Demonstrate a P&L mindset by driving financial performance through annual and long-range forecasting, budget management, and ROI-centric resource allocation and optimized SGA spend.   

  • Cultivate Key Relationships: Build and maintain partnerships with key opinion leaders, advocacy organizations, and industry influencers to broaden market influence and impact.  

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required. MBA preferred. 

  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare marketing, with proven track record of success across multiple therapeutic areas and brand lifecycles 

  • Cross-functional experience (sales, market access, MABI, finance, medical, regulatory, pipeline or other relevant functions) 

  • Strong understanding of the healthcare industry, sales environment, distribution channels, regulatory environment, and market access landscape 

  • Proven people leader, culture builder, communicator, collaborator, and influencer   

  • Demonstrated strategic, business and financial acumen with a bias for action
