Mechanical / 3rd Party Inspector

Position Overview

We have an opening for a variable 3rd party / Mechanical Inspector located in Southern California! The ideal candidate will have their CWI, NDE PT, MT and RT Film Interpretation and with 10+ years of experience in vendor surveillance relating to inspection of fabrication of pipe vessels and mechanical valves. This is a variable role so hours will vary according to project timelines and schedules. Come join the growing Aegeus team!

 

The main duties include:

  • Perform internal and external inspections to determine if items under inspection meet the acceptance criteria of a specific code, standard or document.
  • Monitor NDE and PWHT process.
  • Oversee inspection of mechanical equipment, piping, structure and welding activities conducted at shops and construction sites.
  • Conduct inspections on equipment at scheduled intervals to maintain the mechanical integrity of the equipment as qualified and assigned.
  • Properly interpret regulations, codes, and industry standards.
  • Discuss quality trend with Quality Engineer / Inspection Coordinator and provide Improvement plan if any.
  • Actively participate and ensure a flawless Vendor Surveillance Program.

Pay range for this job level is $40 - $50 per hour and are a general guideline only for States that enforces pay transparency and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, certifications, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.

Education and Work Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must have 10+ years in vendor surveillance relating to inspection of fabrication of pipe vessels and mechanical valves.

  • CWI required
  • Certifications required: MT, PT
