We are looking for an experienced Sr. Program Manager to lead our most challenging Advanced Technology development projects and integration efforts. Your job will be to coordinate the efforts of junior Project Managers to ensure that our projects are delivered on time and produce the desired results. You will be the go-to person for everything involving the projects’ overall organization and timeline. Specific responsibilities will include developing detailed project plans, ensuring resource availability and allocation and delivering each project on time within budget and scope. The candidate should have a background in program leadership, technical R&D / development and project planning & execution. You should be an excellent communicator and comfortable managing multiple tasks. You also need to be a team player and have a problem-solving aptitude.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Coordinate the efforts of multiple project managers in the integration of a suite of networked capital medical equipment product platforms with a cart platform and cloud portal. Create and own the master integration timeline. Serve as the primary point of contact for the effort – ensure alignment and communicate thoroughly across all project teams and stakeholders.
• Work with multiple Marketing Product Managers and R&D Project Managers to plan and execute the sequence of cloud / portal releases requested by multiple associated client product platform teams. Ensure the preparation of complete supporting timelines and thoroughly communicate sequencing decisions and rationales.
• Execute the duties as Project Manager for the development of an intraoperative cart to serve as the central control unit for multiple technology platforms.
• Work with Marketing to clearly define the Intraoperative product roadmap
• Work with junior project managers to ensure their projects have thorough plans and timelines that are aligned to the overall integration effort; play the role of “enforcer” – push back against project teams to defend against timeline slips
• Assess project teams’ execution performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques
• Quickly and thoroughly communicate any issues and escalate to management as needed
• Represent at support the project teams at leadership meetings such as Program Reviews
• Manage the relationship with all cross functional stakeholders
• Perform risk management to minimize project risks
• Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
• Develop candidate staff members with potential into strong Project Managers

Education and Experience
• Great educational background, with a Bachelors Degree from a four-year college or university (or equivalent), preferably in the fields of Computer Science or Software, Systems or Electrical Engineering
• At least 8 years’ experience in R&D / New Product Development with an emphasis in Project Management in a regulated environment (preferably medical devices) is required.
• Proven track record of successfully leading multiple new product development efforts through the entire cycle, from concept to launch.
• Experience leading junior project managers in a technology integration development effort
• Experience with the technical development of capital equipment, enterprise networked devices and cloud-based informatics preferred.
• Practical working knowledge of: ISO 13485 / 14971 / 62304, FDA / MDD / CE, IEC 62304 / 62366, Design Controls / Design History File, Requirements Definition, Risk Management, Validation & Verification, experience leading the efforts of geographically distributed project teams (including international), Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, PMP / PRINCE II certification is a plus

Salary Range
Alphatec Spine, Inc. complies with state and federal wage and hour laws and compensation depends upon candidate’s qualifications, education, skill set, years of experience, and internal equity. $150,000 to $175,000 Full-Time Annual Salary
