As a Business Intelligence Engineer you will be at the forefront of building tools to provide critical insights and analysis used to influence and drive action from business-to-business suppliers and internal partners.Key job responsibilities• Create new reporting to inform business reviews, deep dive analyzer tools, and more emerging strategy efforts.• Improve auditing tools to understand relevant inputs and identify gaps in technology systems to support creation of new capabilities to drive business operating leverage.• Build insights-oriented visualization tools in Quicksight or Tableau to enhance existing ways of working with category teams, vendor managers, finance partners, and other partner teams.• Challenge existing process and work streams with data-driven insights that offer alternatives that are cost neutral, or favorable, but drive more scalable execution.• Partner across North America Stores teams as well as Amazon Business teams to create an intelligence roadmap that addresses core areas for automation, scale, and business financial productivity.• Scale roadmap and solutions across categories by ensuring cross-company impact is measured and supported by stakeholder businesses• Develop a knowledge repository for B2B data intelligence as part of an evolving center of excellence that can be referred to by North America Stores teams.A day in the lifeYour day will balance between meeting with business stakeholder to review business requirements for new product and tools or gaining feedback from users of currently launched tools or reports. You will spend most of your time building and enhancing tools and conducting foundational analysis on data sources and system inter-connectivity.About The TeamThe Amazon Business Category Business Development (CBD) team is a high energy and collaborative team. We strive to be a center of excellence for efficient business operations and a place where people can growth both personally and professionally.Basic Qualifications• 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience• Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools• Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines• Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling• Experience developing and presenting recommendations of new metrics allowing better understanding of the performance of the business• Experience in analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc.• Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasetsPreferred Qualifications• Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift• Master's degree in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, finance or equivalent quantitative field• Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and MatlabAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
