Position Overview:
We’re seeking a highly motivated, sales-oriented Community Ambassador in Tampa to join our team on a part-time basis. As a Community Ambassador, you’ll be at the forefront of engaging with the community to drive awareness and adoption of our disaster recovery services. This role requires someone with strong outreach and sales skills who thrives on direct engagement and enjoys initiating conversations that lead to meaningful connections.
Your day-to-day will include activities like canvassing, cold outreach (door knocking and flyering), and building relationships with local nonprofit partners. You’ll also identify opportunities to position Bright Harbor as the go-to resource for disaster recovery by attending community events, sourcing leads, and working collaboratively to ensure our messaging resonates.
This role is ideal for someone with a knack for connecting with people, experience in outbound sales or community outreach, and a passion for helping communities rebuild.
Temporary Contract:
This role will be up to 30 hours a week for 2 months, with the potential for an extension depending on community needs. You must be available to work at least 20 hours per week and have the flexibility to work evenings or weekends as necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
Community Outreach and Sales: Proactively engage with community members through canvassing, door knocking, and distributing flyers. Use your communication and persuasion skills to educate people about Bright Harbor’s services and inspire them to take action.
Lead Generation and Follow-Up: Identify opportunities and generate leads for Bright Harbor’s services through outbound outreach. Maintain accurate records of outreach efforts and follow up to build long-term trust and engagement.
Event Representation: Attend and represent Bright Harbor at local community events, building relationships, presenting our services, and generating interest.
Partnership Development: Source and establish connections with local nonprofit partners, coordinating outreach efforts to amplify our presence and messaging in the community.
Brand Awareness: Ensure Bright Harbor’s brand and messaging are visible in the community by posting signs, attending events, and identifying additional opportunities for exposure.
Resource Matching: Identify and share opportunities for free services, such as debris removal, local grants, and other resources, to support clients in their recovery journey.
Community Insights: Gather feedback from community interactions to help Bright Harbor better understand local needs and refine our services.
Needs Assessment & Triage: Conduct initial assessments with community members to understand their recovery needs and provide recommendations for next steps.
Qualifications:
Sales-Oriented: You thrive on outbound outreach and have experience in canvassing, cold calling, or community-based sales. You’re comfortable starting conversations and persuading others to engage with services that benefit them.
Deeply Passionate: You care about making a difference in your community and are driven to support individuals, families, and businesses as they rebuild and recover.
High Integrity: Trustworthiness and honesty are essential. You prioritize the best interests of the community in everything you do.
Local Insight: You have a strong connection to the local community and understand its organizations, leaders, and dynamics.
Community Engagement Experience: Experience in outreach, canvassing, or social services is a plus, as is any work where you’ve helped others navigate local resources.
Approachable and Trustworthy: You’re empathetic and able to quickly build trust and rapport with community members and partners, making them feel supported.
Clear Communicator: Excellent verbal communication and active listening skills allow you to connect with people, offer solutions, and inspire action.
Results-Oriented: You’re a self-starter who thrives on achieving goals, whether it’s generating leads, building relationships, or finding solutions for community members.
Dependable and Organized: Strong organizational skills and a commitment to follow-through make you reliable in all aspects of your work.
Flexible Availability: You’re available for community events, outreach, and meetings, even during evenings or weekends when needed.
