JOB DESCRIPTION:

SUMMARY OF POSITION

Centerstone is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Peer Recovery Specialist to join our Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) team.  The ideal candidate will provide high-quality behavioral health services to individuals, families, and groups, focusing on promoting mental health, wellness, and recovery. 

A Peer Recovery Specialist provides emotional/informational support for program participants and their families. Assists clients with access to positive social connections and community-based or office-based recovery support services. This role will work with community partners and local stakeholders to provide comprehensive care in the community or office. As a part of the community-based or office-based team, the Peer Support Specialist will meet with individuals in office and/or their own environment such as in the client’s home, hospital, the office, schools/work, etc. This role will ensure continuity of care with clients through peer services as well as sharing their own lived experiences to provide clients with education, support, and hope. A variety of clinical training opportunities are available based on program and interest.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and maintain therapeutic relationships with clients and conduct outreach activities.
  • Assist clients in identifying personal recovery goals and setting objectives for each goal.
  • Provide individual and group peer support services.
  • Model effective coping techniques and self-help strategies.
  • Facilitate wraparound/recovery supports (e.g., transportation, social connection, job training, benefits enrollment) based on individual treatment plan goals.
  • Collaborate with treatment team to develop and review treatment plans.
  • Network with community stakeholders to advocate for clients.
  • Educate the community about peer support services and the peer-based philosophy.
  • Maintains departmental productivity expectations.
  • Completes all required agency trainings to maintain 100% compliance. Additional training and/or certification may be required based on specific program guidelines.
  • Understands how the job functions within the overall Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics (CCBHC) model.
  • Performs all required job duties and responsibilities in accordance to CCBHC Standards.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Effectively communicate via written, verbal, in person and virtual methods.
  • Competency with electronic medical records, computer systems, and documentation.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills in order to collaborate with team members and maintain professionalism in the community. 
  • Accountable and self-directed with daily job duties.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education Level

High school diploma or GED required.

Years of Experience

  • Lived experience with mental illness, substance use, or homelessness and/or experience gained through family member’s mental health/substance use. 
  • Experience navigating the healthcare systems and other community support resources.

Certification/Licensure

Must have a valid driver’s license.

Pay Range:

$18.1--$24.45
