At CertifyOS, we're building the infrastructure that powers the next generation of provider data products, making healthcare more efficient, accessible, and innovative. Our platform is the ultimate source of truth for provider data, offering unparalleled ease and trust while making data easily accessible and actionable for the entire healthcare ecosystem.

What sets us apart? Our cutting-edge, API-first, UI-agnostic, end-to-end provider network management platform automates licensing, enrollment, credentialing, and network monitoring like never before. With direct integrations into hundreds of primary sources, we have an unbeatable advantage in enhancing visibility into the entire provider network management process. Plus, our team brings over 25+ years of combined experience building provider data systems at Oscar Health, and we're backed by top-tier VC firms who share our bold vision of creating a one-of-a-kind healthcare cloud that eliminates friction surrounding provider data.

But it's not just about the technology; it's about the people behind it. At Certify, we foster a meritocratic environment where every voice is heard, valued, and celebrated. We're founded on the principles of trust, transparency, and accountability, and we're not afraid to challenge the status quo at every turn. We're looking for purpose-driven individuals like you to join us on this exhilarating ride as we redefine healthcare data infrastructure.

About the Role:

As the Director of Engineering at CertifyOS, you'll be at the helm of one of our most critical technical areas: building and scaling our provider data platform. This platform powers everything from licensing and credentialing to real-time network insights for some of the largest healthcare organizations in the U.S.

You’ll lead multiple engineering teams, influence technical strategy, and work cross-functionally to deliver a highly scalable, resilient, and performant system. A significant part of the role involves working with data at scale — including challenges like data integration, entity resolution, streaming, quality, and analytics — and transforming this data into reliable, API-first products.

We’re looking for a leader who combines deep technical expertise with a product mindset, and who can both drive architecture and grow high-performing teams.

What You'll Do
  • Lead a significant part of the engineering team: Establish best practices, design, and implement product capabilities and platform architecture to build a scalable, performant, and available provider data management platform.
  • Ensure timely deliveries with high quality: Identify initiatives, design solutions, ensure teams are able to deliver, and drive comprehensive test coverage,
  • Enhance Observability: Build and manage monitoring and observability frameworks, including logging and alerting systems, to improve system resilience.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with product and engineering teams to support scalable, high-quality releases and ensure smooth operations across development.
  • Leadership & Mentorship: Lead a multi-disciplinary engineering team, promoting skill development and fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Strategic Influence: Contribute to CertifyOS's broader technical strategy, supporting our mission to build a robust, scalable, and enterprise-ready platform.

What Makes You a Match? (Must have)
  • Experience: 12+ years in software engineering, with at least 5 years in engineering management, including leading other managers.
  • Entity Resolution Expertise: A clear understanding of entity resolution—what it is, why it matters, and the common technical challenges involved. Prior hands-on experience is a plus but a strong conceptual grasp is required.
  • Data & Platform Depth: Experience in at least 3 of the following areas: Data integration or ingestion, Data extraction or export, API management, Data quality, Analytics and reporting, Data streaming (e.g., Kafka, Pub/Sub), Data storage and performance optimization
  • Data-Centric Product Development: Experience building or leading development of data-heavy enterprise platforms. Master Data Management (MDM) experience is preferred.
  • SaaS Delivery: Demonstrated success in delivering reliable, scalable SaaS products.
  • Infrastructure as Code: Proficient with tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar.
  • Cloud-Native Architecture: Skilled in containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) on cloud platforms (GCP preferred).
  • Observability & Monitoring: Built or led efforts in system observability—logging, alerting, tracing (e.g., GCP Logging, Stackdriver).
  • Leadership & Communication: High-agency leader, able to drive cross-functional collaboration and communicate complex technical ideas effectively across functions.

What Makes You a Match? (Nice to have)
  • Experience managing software quality through development including the testing pyramid is nice to have
  • Experience with SRE principles or responsibility over production systems is nice to have

Key Characteristics
  • Curious: Passionate about driving efficiency and exploring technical challenges.
  • High-agency: Eager to take ownership and make impactful decisions.
  • Self-learner: Continuously developing new skills and keeping up with industry trends.
  • Low-ego: A collaborative leader who values teamwork and shared success.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity: Able to navigate uncertainty and find effective solutions.

What You'll Get
  • Impactful Work: Shape the development strategy at a growing SaaS company in the healthcare sector.
  • Growth & Development: Opportunity to lead critical engineering functions with high visibility and influence.
  • Collaborative Culture: Work in a supportive environment where innovation and efficiency are key drivers.
  • Equity: A share in a rapidly growing company that is revolutionizing the healthcare data space.
