The Role:


We’re looking for someone who lives to uncover and tell compelling stories. In this role, you’ll be in the lead for North American media relations and global storytelling, working with the larger communications team to craft the message we take to the media and analyst communities. You’ll work closely with the Los Angeles-based North America Communications Director and the Boston-based Analyst Relations Director, the entire comms & marketing team, our PR agency and senior executives across the company to develop and implement a comprehensive media strategy for Celonis.


You’ll also work directly on an ongoing media campaign for our NYC-based co-CEO & co-founder Alex Rinke, helping to up-level his thought leadership platform and visibility.


The work you’ll do:


You’ll ensure that Celonis’ unique value proposition is effectively communicated with North American media, increasing brand awareness and thought leadership for the executive team:


  • Plan and implement media strategy for Celonis and key leaders in North America
  • Craft the narrative and messages we’ll bring to media, globally
  • Foster and maintain positive relationships with key media on behalf of Celonis
  • Work directly with leaders across the company to train and prepare them for media interactions, and hone their specific narrative and thought leadership platforms
  • Help develop or edit press releases, pitches, bylines, blog posts, abstracts, award nominations (eg for the likes of Forbes Cloud 100), contributed content for a North American audience
  • Work closely with the global communications, AR and customer teams to ensure materials are on-message and coordinate customer opportunities with media
  • Identify and manage relevant award applications, podcast opportunities and conference submissions for key executives 
  • Collaborate with the analyst relations team to support key initiatives such as research and ranking reports, speaking engagements and analyst support


The qualifications you need:


You must be a self-motivated, passionate, resourceful, responsible communications professional with the confidence and experience to lead complex, strategic programs


  • 6+ years of domain experience in communications; experience writing for a variety of different audiences is desired; PR agency or related media relations experience is extremely beneficial; general journalistic or marketing experience is also beneficial
  • Excellent media relations skills and close relationships with national business, technology and enterprise media, as well as vertical industry trade media
  • Excellent English writing, editing and proofreading skills, as well as the journalistic ability to source stories from employees
  • Experience creating compelling, media-ready messaging and narratives
  • A good understanding of integrated communications programs and the ability to lead them with focus on press relations and social media 
  • Familiarity with information technology, especially digital and video communication
  • Pre, at and post IPO experience ideally in the SaaS/enterprise software space
  • Experience working with senior executives or a C-suite; confidence to deal with senior executives and recommend communication techniques 
  • Ideally some Analyst Relations experience; willingness to dive deeper into the Analyst Relations craft and support Analyst Relations efforts as needed


Compensation statement:


For positions in New York City only: We offer a base salary range of $95,000 - $165,000, based on a Full Time Schedule. Total compensation package will include base salary + bonus/commission + equity + benefits (health, dental, life, 401k, and paid time off). Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and that the actual total compensation offer will be determined based on various factors, including, but not limited to, applicant's qualifications, skills, experiences, and location.
