PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Eaton’s Industrial Controls Division, headquartered just 14 miles from downtown Milwaukee, WI, has a great opportunity for an individual looking to join an incredible team. Candidate will be responsible for supporting Industrial Control Division's New Product Development product manufacturing strategy. This will include using lean manufacturing tools to identify and implement product design for manufacturing (DFM) improvements. In addition to supporting the DFM, the candidate will be required to help prepare the manufacturing site(s) for production. This includes assembly line definition and layouts, material planning, product testing, work instruction creation, assembly tooling and fixturing design and fabrication, and various other aspects associated with the introduction of new product to manufacturing. Product supported includes a wide range of industrial products including variable frequency drives, reduced voltage soft starters, NEMA & IEC starters, and intelligent monitoring and protection relays.
This position will reside in an Eaton divisional headquarters building, which houses engineering for multiple product lines, as well as marketing, sales, finance, and R&D. The facility was built in 2012 and boasts an open office layout surrounded by large windows, as well as 50,000+ square feet of onsite state-of-the-art laboratory space. The division actively sponsors wellness and community involvement committees which organize team sports, company outings, and volunteer events throughout the Milwaukee area. Amenities on site include: a fitness center, ping pong, basketball court, garden, quiet rooms equipped with sinks and storage for nursing mothers, an employee lounge, and a grill and patio. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Design and establish assembly methods for new work cells procure and setup tooling and equipment for these new work cells to meet safety, quality and productivity goals.
• Improve productivity of and reduce the floor space required by existing product lines through update of AutoCAD layouts and suggestions.
• Support the plant quality process through mistake proofing new and existing business production operations.
• Assist Engineering team with Identifying, justifying and implementing capital equipment projects.
• Reviews engineering designs for manufacturing feasibility and recommends changes, as necessary.
• Provide input for manufacturing fixtures and tooling.
• Assist with plant layout and workstation design.
• Learn and use ERP manufacturing software.
• Create documentation for new product launches.
• Presentation of final project and Root Cause Analysis to upper Management.
Basic Required Qualifications for this position include:
• Currently enrolled in a BS/BA or MS program with a mechanical, electrical or industrial engineering degree focus. Minimum qualifications include completion of sophomore year in an engineering program leading to a Bachelor’s degree.
• Applicant should have excellent PC skills; including Word, Excel and Access, AutoCAD, ProEngineer software experience is a plus.
• Any manufacturing experience or previous co-op/intern preferred
• Must have a GPA of a 2.8 or higher (please do not round)
• This position does not offer relocation. The candidate must reside within 50 miles of Menomonee Falls, WI
• Must be eligible to work in the US on an on-going basis without company sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
• Qualified applicants will be detailed oriented, well organized and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Applicants must be able to multi-task, prioritize, successfully handle pressure, and work/make decisions independently when required.
• Successful candidate is safety-conscious, self-motivated, a team player, and is able to think proactively.
• Applicant should have basic understanding of Df(x) and Lean manufacturing.

• Must have good communication, organizational skills. Must be self-motivated and able to complete tasks with little supervision.
