Empower Yourself.The Relationship Manager (RM) acts as the strategic point of contact on assigned large Taft-Hartley plans between $50-100M, ensuring exceptional client service and plan sponsor satisfaction. The associate is accountable for strategy, overall service delivery, evaluating, improving and managing client satisfaction, risk/retention efforts, book of business economics, and plan management. The RM must successfully drive plan and participant outcomes as defined by the plan sponsor and Empower. The RM will collaborate with plan sponsors and internal partners to transform each plan by successfully identifying, socializing, managing, and delivering better processes and solutions for each client and their participants.This Relationship manager will cover a Midwest territory. The Relationship Manager MUST be based in this territory and be able to travel to visit clients as necessary.What you will do• Maintain client relationships, enhance overall client satisfaction, actively reduce risk of client loss and improve the financial viability of client relationships. This includes both enhancing revenue and working with internal partners to improve plan relationship efficiency• Consistently reinforce assigned clients’ buying decision and strengthen overall client relationships• Conduct client meetings, working with internal SMEs and the entire service team to bring Empower’s best thinking to clients in the areas of plan design, funding, administration, participant communications, compliance, fiduciary governance and industry trends• Identify and effectively report key indicators, recommending solutions and identifying opportunities to leverage talent and connections to retain and enhance the relationship, which is a critically important part of the role• Deliver periodic plan statistical, regulatory/legislative, and industry trending presentations to clients – both virtually and in person• Partner with internal shared services team to effectively support the client to meet all contractual requirements and improve client satisfaction and profitability• Work with the client service team to develop material, present to the client, and implement client business planning deliverables• Participate in new business finals presentations and client site visits to build rapport with clients and manage client expectations beginning with the sales process and continuing throughout the relationship• Understand clients’ needs, align those needs to business plans and ensure implementation with high quality execution• Leverage and showcase knowledge of the company’s products and services with the client to enhance service to the plan sponsors and key stakeholders• Serve as the key SME on their assigned plans and anticipate challenges and issues and recommend product, process, and service improvements• Proactively identify and determine solutions for problems that impact business success and management• Maintain plan persistency and grow book of business via achieving 100% client persistency and increase new enrollments and contributions and adopt new political sub-divisions (if applicable)What you will bring• Bachelor’s degree required• 5+ years of industry or RM experience, minimum of 2 years' experience working with leaders and key clients• Experience working with Government/public sector or Taft Hartley/union clients• Evaluate and manage client satisfaction: Ability to ascertain both the obvious and not so obvious signs of satisfaction / dissatisfaction and effectively work to positively influence client perspective• Strategic thinking that enables associate to create and drive strategy and business results.• Relationship Penetration Expertise: Develop as deep and as broad a relationship with clients / advisors as possible.• Define and Assess the Reasons for Client Risk: Understanding how / why we look at and evaluate client risk status understanding "Provider", "Client" and "Industry" Risks; Identifying and working with key internal and external partners to retain clients• Ability to articulate the Empower value proposition, participant and plan sponsor experience, and relationship management value proposition and service model• Strong collaboration skills with the ability to influence direction and procure resources• FINRA 6 & 63 registrations required within established timelines• FINRA fingerprinting requiredWhat will set you apart• Demonstrated experience in identifying solutions and resolution to issues and plan design matters• Understanding and being conversant on revenue and expense variables associated with client relationships• Understanding of investment management products and services• Excellent verbal and written communication skills including presentation skills, building partnerships internally and externally including plan sponsors, consultants, key stakeholders, committee / board members, and business leaders• Ability to build rapport with clients and proactively manage client expectations• Ability to diplomatically persuade and influence others and navigate potential objections on complex issues/ideas/theories• Strong project management skills• Critical thinking and decision making• **Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time, including CPT/OPT.***What we offer youWe offer an array of diverse and inclusive benefits regardless of where you are in your career. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance.
