Axle Eight is a boutique digital marketing agency that helps bold brands break the mold. As part of Lorraine Gregory Communications, our parent company based in New York, we pride ourselves on adaptability, creativity, and a “human-first” approach. Our services span paid media, SEO, content creation, social media, PR, email marketing, video production, cold email lead generation, and direct mail campaigns.

We’re seeking a Business Development Manager to drive new business deals for the company. If you have a strong background in marketing, sales, and building consultative relationships, this could be your perfect role.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Sales & Relationship Building: Prospect and identify potential clients across a variety of industries, targeting companies seeking monthly retainer-based digital marketing partnerships. Develop and nurture relationships with key decision-makers such as CEOs, CMOs, and VPs of Marketing.
  • Consultative Selling: Present Axle Eight’s suite of services and provide tailored marketing solutions based on each client’s unique business goals. Act as a trusted advisor by demonstrating expertise across marketing channels like paid media, SEO, content, social media, PR, and more.
  • Lead Generation & Outreach: Develop and execute strategies to engage potential clients through networking, cold outreach, and other creative channels. Leverage existing relationships and marketing expertise to identify opportunities that align with our offerings.
  • Closing Deals: Build and deliver compelling proposals, negotiate contracts, and successfully close deals to meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Collaboration & Strategy: Partner with internal teams to ensure seamless handoff and onboarding of new clients. Contribute to refining the sales process and marketing materials to optimize lead generation and conversion rates.

Qualifications

  • Experience: At least 3+ years in sales for a marketing agency, as a marketer, or as an agency owner.
  • Marketing Knowledge: Deep understanding of digital marketing services, with the ability to confidently discuss strategies and solutions with senior executives.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to lead consultative conversations with executives confidently and effectively over video calls or in person.
  • Industry Agnostic: Ability to adapt and cater to clients from various industries with confidence and creativity.
  • Self-Starter: Comfortable in a remote, fast-paced, and self-directed environment.
  • Results-Oriented: Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.

Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary: $75,000 annually
