AI Automation Engineer

Artificial Intelligence (AI) Automation Engineer

GoodParty.org is seeking an AI force multiplier to help our team empower thousands of independent candidates to run, win and serve. By leveraging the latest technologies, driving efficiencies, and implementing automation, you’ll unlock massive scale that makes a real impact on our country.

About GoodParty.org:

GoodParty.org is on a mission to make people matter more than money in our democracy by empowering independent candidates to run, win, and serve. Our AI-powered platform provides free tools to independent candidates to run their campaigns, connect with voters, and serve their communities effectively.

A majority of eligible voters, including more than half of Millennials and Gen Z, say that neither Republicans nor Democrats represent them. GoodParty.org is the solution. In 2024 we empowered 3,444 independent candidate wins across 48 states from all across the ideological spectrum. The only things our elected officials have in common is that they prioritize people over parties and community over corporate interests. In 2024, 40.3 million voters (26% of all voters) cast a ballot for our candidates. We’re not a political party, we’re a platform and a movement to democratize democracy.

Founded by serial entrepreneur Farhad Mohit ($1B+ in exits, including Flipagram/TikTok and Shopzilla), GoodParty.org is building solutions so we can have a truly representative democracy where society’s biggest problems are solved.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop and implement AI-driven automation tools that  streamline operations and workflows across every team.

  • Integrate AI systems into existing processes to automate repetitive tasks such as data entry, analytics, candidate onboarding, candidate support, and team coordination.

  • Stay on the leading edge with the latest developments in automation technologies, machine learning, and AI, recommending and integrating advancements into GoodParty.org's engineering team and operations. It would be your job to be plugged in and share the cutting edge with the team.

  • Build out AI and LLM use cases and utilize best practices in AI into our product to help candidates get elected, as well as opportunistic projects to spread our message and movement.

  • Create robust automated data pipelines and processing systems that facilitate real-time analytics and reporting.

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders, including Product and Engineering, Operations, Research, Politics, and Growth to identify and prioritize and implement automation opportunities.

  • Regularly assess the effectiveness of implemented AI automation solutions, proactively refining and optimizing for efficiency and latest capabilities.

  • Maintain detailed technical documentation and provide training and support to ensure team members fully utilize automation solutions.

  • Report to the CTO. Partner closely with the Director of Business Operations.

Who we’re looking for:

  • You’ve got 3 years of experience specifically in automation engineering or AI-focused software development. You have prior experience specifically with NLP, generative AI, and AI-driven automation solutions.

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.

  • You have strong proficiency in Python, JavaScript, or similar programming languages.

  • You have strong familiarity with machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch.

  • You have a solid understanding of cloud-based AI services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

  • You’re tuned into the latest news and releases of AI tools. You’re skilled at discerning hype from reality. You think about how something new could be useful.

  • You have the ability to shadow a current process, ask smart questions of the team members involved, understand the desired result, and then come up with ways to use technology to improve that process. You have strong judgment in considering tradeoffs, making recommendations, and developing solutions.

  • You’ve got excellent problem-solving skills with an analytical approach.

  • You’ve got strong interpersonal and communication skills with experience working collaboratively in remote environments.

  • You’re able to work independently and collaborate with others when needed to iteratively solve problems in real-time. Our solution is desperately needed and the issues of our time are all bottlenecked by our corrupted democracy.

Bonus if:

  • Background or strong interest in civic technology or nonprofit operations.

  • Experience in agile methodologies within remote teams.

Why you should work at GoodParty.org:

  • Join us in solving the biggest problem of our time – fixing our democracy – so all other problems can be solved

  • We’re a Public Benefit Corporation that prioritizes social impact over profit

  • Innovative Bitcoin denominated deferred bonus plan, allowing you to have the amazing upside of being in a startup while working on a truly meaningful mission

  • Work where and how you like, on a fully remote team spread across the country

  • Join a passionate team with diverse political views focused on one mission

  • 100% coverage of health, dental, and vision benefits for you and your dependents

  • We encourage you to take time off to recharge and have an unlimited PTO (sick and vacation) policy. This is a marathon, not a sprint. We believe a work-life balance is needed to get there.

  • 401(k) program available so you can contribute toward retirement savings (no employer match)

  • Individual learning & development budget to fund your growth

  • We’ll make sure you’ve got what you need to work remotely through our workspace setup stipend

  • If you work from home, we give $50/month to help with your internet and other expenses. If you prefer co-working, that’s an option we can discuss too.

  • Fully funded for our mission. No stressing over whether the next round of funding will come through. Focus on making an impact. That’s what matters here.

The salary range is $130,000 - $160,000 for this remote, full-time position with excellent benefits. The top end of the range will extend to $200,000 for candidates who can demonstrate exceptional expertise as an AI-first, cutting-edge engineer. Title will also be commensurate with experience.
