The Union Hill Studios is a highly-collaborative and fast-paced team that is responsible for delivering compelling and on-strategy photography, video, & sound for Hallmark. With visual and audio storytelling at its core, the studio drives to connect consumers to the full extent of Hallmark s portfolio through marketing, merchandising, advertising, and product development. Union Hill Studios is one of the largest in-house studios in the country, with more than 50 photographers, cinematographers, directors, editors, sound engineers, stylists, producers, and support staff on our team. AN Overview:
Hallmark's Union Hill Studios is hiring a Video Editor. We are looking for someone who can work fast and can work independently, and loves the world of post-production. Our ideal candidate is a hybrid, with experience in graphic design, typography, motion graphics and photography as well as video production.
THE VIDEO EDITOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR:
The Video Editor facilitates post-production for in-store communication, pitches, retailer and consumer-facing video that support Hallmark s wholesale and retail businesses. In this position, you will be expected to perform in a creative, collaborative environment and consistently produce high-quality, complex media productions.
Working with video directors, art directors, account lead and business partners, you will be required to use your professional experience and technical knowledge to offer creative and technically appropriate solutions to meet business needs. In addition, you will be required to work independently to edit unsupervised, color grade, work on simple motion graphics, compress and upload video files and fulfill projects that meet the requirements of various business partners. Projects will range from consumer facing product demonstration & promotion, branding and marketing videos (online and at retail), through creative use of media. The Video Editor will identify and apply innovative and creative approaches to continually elevate video and media production work at Hallmark.
In this role, you must demonstrate creativity, strong storytelling skills, keen sense in typography & graphic design, problem solving, initiative, communication, and teamwork as well as interpersonal, organizational and consulting skills in a variety of business situations.
The Video Editor role is a progressive position and will be filled at a level based on the skills and experience of the selected candidate. Also there may be some relocation funding support for the selected candidate.

A portfolio is required. Your portfolio should be compiled into one PDF or Word document that is no larger than 10 MB. Please provide a link to your demo reel in addition to other projects you include in your submitted portfolio. Your portfolio for Hallmark must include a portfolio demo reel of your video production and editing experience (in .mov or .swf format which exceeds no more than 20MB in total file size). In addition, you may include a link/links to your online portfolio/video production and editing work as a supplement to the work you upload. Applicants who submit only a website link as their portfolio demo reel will not be considered. .
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
The following is required to be considered for this role:
• Bachelor's Degree or 4 years professional work experience
• Minimum of 3 years of video editing or motion graphics experience
• Experience using the Adobe Creative Suite (Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and After Effects)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in one of the following areas:
film/video production, media arts or communications field
• Strong interpersonal skills--able to work effectively with diverse internal and external partners
• Strong verbal and written communication skills able to effectively communicate
• Thrives in a consistently busy and changing environment
• Experience working in a team environment
• Strong visual storytelling skills and good sense of timing
• Be able to work edit on the fly during a shoot
• Experience with studio and location video production
