Assistant Early Education Director, $2,000 Sign On Bonus

To be more comparable with K-12 primary education positions, we now offer 4 weeks of guaranteed paid time off for employees. Our school calendars include paid closures between Christmas and New Year's Day, February and April vacations (to align with the Chittenden County Public School District), the week of July 4th, along with multiple federal holidays and added professional development days throughout the year.


We are seeking an Assistant Director to join our team in Burlington, VT. The Assistant Director supports maintaining center operations and occasional classroom coverage. This role helps oversee the center's function, operation, and leadership. The position requires the ability to support the day-to-day operations of a high-quality Early Childhood Education program. The Assistant Director will have strong interpersonal and organizational skills and a passion for nurturing children and their families.

Own center-based daily/educational operations, including but not limited to:
  • Schedule and administer smooth daily opening and closing procedures
  • Supervise curriculum to meet or exceed the standards of NAEYC’s developmental guidelines, and state education standards
  • Demonstrate a complete mastery of the regulatory environment, including compliance, licensor relationships, and the ability to adapt to regulatory changes.
  • Oversee school culture and activities
  • Maintain exceptional relationships with enrolled families through excellent verbal and written communication, family events, and positive interactions.
  • Ensure that anti-bias and anti-racism perspectives are evident throughout the school
  • Actively engage children, staff, and families in age-appropriate social-emotional learning
  • Serve as a mandated reporter, and ensure all staff understand their obligations as a mandated reporters


Own center-based financial management, including, but not limited to:
  • All weekly scheduling and payroll calculation are handled in the payroll system, i.e., Paylocity
  • Weekly Profit & Loss calculations are completed
  • Budgeting (e.g., billing, managing and collecting outstanding tuition, handling all voucher renewals, revenue drivers, and the ordering of supplies)
  • Communicate with families about all things related to tuition and billing 
  • Updating family payment and attendance schedules through company systems (e.g., Procare)


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Education, Human Development, or related field, or 30 college credits with an Early Childhood or School Age focus
  • Must qualify as an Assistant Director per the Child Care Licensing regulations for the state of Vermont.
  • 1-3 Years in a formal childcare setting.
  • Vermont Early Educator License is preferred.
