Mobile Medication Unit Driver

Overview

Helio Health is on a mission to treat and promote recovery from the effects of substance use, mental health disorders, and other behavioral healthcare issues. To support the mission of Helio Health, the Mobile Medication Unit Driver (MMU) will be responsible for operating and maintaining a 33-foot mobile clinic. The mobile clinic travels regionally between Oneida and Fulton counties. A clean NY State Driver's License is required, no special license is required, but experience driving large vehicles is preferred.

 

The Mobile Medication Unit Driver will work on a Full-Time basis for our Utica Opioid Treatment Program. The position will work Monday through Friday or Tuesday through Saturday from between the hours of 5:00am - 1:00pm through 6:00am - 2:30pm.

 

Pay Rate: $21.00- $25.00 per hour.

 

In addition to Helio Health’s comprehensive benefits package, Full-Time hires for this position are eligible for a Sign-On incentive up to $1,500.00!

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for operating and maintaining a 33-foot mobile clinic.
  • Transport nursing staff and other personnel to and from the treatment destination and storage facility.
  • Support the activities conducted in the mobile clinic as needed.
  • Enforce safety and emergency procedures associated with the position.
  • Ensure that the transport vehicle is in compliance with New York State Motor Vehicle laws by monitoring for:
    • Vehicle inspection
    • Vehicle registration
    • Insurance cards. Maintain vehicle trip log on a daily basis. 
  • Maintain the transport vehicle: Fill with gas, windshield fluid, etc. as needed, monitor safety needs, such as tire pressure, keep the vehicle clean and operating properly, and report any safety or maintenance concerns to supervisor or other administrative staff in a timely manner. 
  • Provide support to the on-going operations of the program as needed.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Attend staff meetings as scheduled.

Qualifications

  • Valid New York State Driver’s License.
  • High School Diploma/equivalency required.
  • Previous experience driving large vehicles.
  • Ability to relate effectively with staff and patients.  
  • Sound judgement and cultural competency.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications.

Salary and hourly compensation ranges are provided in accordance with NYS law and are based on Helio Health's good faith belief of what is accurate at the time of posting. Salary and hourly compensation offers are based on candidate's education level and experience relevant to the position and also take into account information provided by the hiring manager and program.
