Work set up: Hybrid (Limited travel expected)

Our client in the global professional services industry is looking for a Marketing and Communications Practitioner who is an action-oriented, strategic thinker to focus on generating consistent and impactful media coverage in support of business priorities. This professional will play a major role in driving messaging and positioning for key topics, thought leadership campaigns, and industry experts. The successful candidate will be a key member of the UK and Ireland media team, supporting media relations across industries, functions, and strategic insights.

What you will do:

  • Develop a keen understanding of key issues and trends affecting the business, with a particular focus on industries such as Financial Services, Retail, and Consumer Goods.
  • Proactively generate tier-one and trade media coverage in support of key topics and content.
  • Communicate complex topics through clear, concise messaging; strong writing and editing skills for various audiences, including press releases, talking points, Q&A, and PR collateral.
  • Manage and mentor the Media Relations Specialist, supporting their professional development.
  • Bring creativity and initiative to drive media results.
  • Function effectively within a matrixed organization and collaborate across teams.
  • Provide strategic counsel to business leadership on media relations strategy and messaging.
  • Adapt global thought leadership content for local media.
  • Implement campaigns and programs across teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred.
  • 6 to 8 years of agency or in-house experience in PR/corporate communications within marketing, technology, or professional services sectors.
  • Strong ability to build relationships and provide strategic counsel to senior leadership.
  • Experience with media measurement tools, tactics, and capabilities.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven ability to draft high-quality media materials, including news releases, media Q&As, media pitches, bylined articles, and op-eds.
  • Strong knowledge of the UK media landscape with a track record in media relations, particularly in financial services.
  • Familiarity with social media strategies and platforms.
  • Experience supporting major industry events.
  • Ability to engage and collaborate with media contacts, alliance partners, third-party organizations, and vendors.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of industry trends.
  • Excellent project management and reporting skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality work aligned with business strategy.
  • Ability to influence leadership through relationship-building and executive presence.
