AI Software Evangelist - job 1 of 2

Job Details:

Job Description:

By the end of 2025, it’s estimated that over 100 million AI-capable PCs will be shipped worldwide.  At the heart of this revolution, AI inference is playing a key role in the advancement of AI technology, which is being applied in various domains, including the edge, client-side, and cloud.

This advancement has led to the development of a range of AI applications, including real-time AI assistants, image and video generation tools, solutions for defect detection, medical diagnosis, inventory management, and public safety monitoring. As these technologies continue to evolve, they're becoming increasingly integrated into our daily lives and making impacts to businesses and consumers.  It's an exciting world to be a developer in this growing field, especially AI at the edge!

On Intel hardware accelerators, the software framework that enables this is the OpenVINO Toolkit. This toolkit has rapidly grown since its launch in June 2018 to be a leading AI optimization and deployment tool among developers, and this has been growing a large community (over 5 millions downloads per year and growing) around it that needs to be supported by our evangelists.

We are therefore looking to grow our software evangelism team to nurture developers, drive deep technical engagement in the developer community, and be the voice of Intel AI software like OpenVINO or Open Edge Platform to developers and for developers back into Intel.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Build and foster developer communities around Intel AI software (e.g., OpenVINO or Open Edge Platform).

  • Create a transformational initiative to build stronger direct and programmatic relationships with AI Inference Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) and AI Inference Developers.

  • Grow self-sustaining and scalable meetups and user groups.

  • Shepherd the open-source community and help ensure it grows healthy and strong.

  • Internally advocate for the needs of the developer community, working with product, marketing, and engineering teams to determine features and technology strategy.

  • Regularly interact directly with HQ and regional marketing teams and centers of excellence (COEs), Intel field and regional sales teams, regional ISVs and academia, 3rd party communities & associations, etc.

  • Evangelize the development of community tools and services to accelerate the growth and engagement of developers.

  • Work at times directly with customers and prospects to deliver executive-level demonstrations and presentations. Evangelize Intel inferencing software relative to the status quo/alternatives.

  • Collaborate with internal developers/documentation team to create, contribute to, and publish technical content.

  • Present technical sessions at conferences, workshops, and online events.

  • Analyze the effectiveness of community advocacy and continually strategize and iterate.

  • Travel up to 30% of the time to developer events, conferences, and workshops.

Soft Skills:

  • Self-motivated and willingness to work independently.

  • Communication skills with experience in writing about, teaching, and speaking about complex technical topics to both technical/business decision-maker audiences.

  • Passion and empathy for technical communities.

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, such as product management, product marketing, and developer marketing teams is a plus.

The right person for this job has a passion for how AI can change solution developments in the world of AI Compute, is a coder who is fluent in deep learning along with the major frameworks such as PyTorch and has experience in prior roles supporting developers of a software platform or framework.

We need someone who, at the same time, is a strong communicator with experience presenting in public and influencing business decision-makers at companies around the world. This role will partner closely with engineering, planning, enabling, and marketing teams to drive developer satisfaction and success.

Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. The communication skills such as public speaking, running webinars, and customer-facing events are essential to the success of this role.

  • 2+ years of experience working with developers (creating content such as code, blog, and video is a plus).

  • 5+ years of overall experience in the field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MS or PhD in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent.

  • Public speaking, publishing (blogs), and video production experience.

  • Strong coding skills in creating customized demos for customers/developers.

  • Ability to create content and educate a diverse set of audiences ranging from beginning to advanced.

Requirements listed would be obtained through a combination of industry-relevant job experience, internship experiences, and/or schoolwork/classes/research. The communication skills such as public speaking, running webinars, and customer-facing events are essential to the success of this role.
