Job Description

Job Summary:

The finance intern will support the finance department in functions such as record retention, scanning and filing documents, and accounting processes during the Summer 2025 semester. The finance intern will be required to work independently on administrative and finance support projects. This position provides the candidate with exposure to various finance functions including month-end processes, accruals, and other projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains scanning and filing of financial documents for record retention project.
  • Gain exposure to accounting and financial processes throughout documentation work
  • Works with accounts receivables and payables
  • Assist with customer account maintenance and month-end processes
  • Works with accruals and other journals
  • Other duties may be assigned

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS: 

  • Working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field of study 
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication, organizational and interpersonal skills  
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and Powerpoint)

  • Analytical skills:  Sorting and analyzing data sets to identify data trends or clusters and extract meaningful assessments in support of established goals and strategies. 
  • Work standards:  Setting high standards of performance for self and others; assuming responsibility and accountability for successfully completing assignments or tasks; self-imposing standards of excellence rather than having standards imposed. 
  • Initiating action:  Taking prompt action to accomplish objectives; taking action to achieve goals beyond what is required; being proactive. 
  • Communication:  Strong written and oral communication skills.  Ability to coordinate and communicate activities between internal departments as well as with external suppliers. 
  • Planning and Organizing:  establishing courses of action for self and others to ensure that work is completed efficiently.
