The Senior Manager - Firmware will have a strong focus on Firmware/Software development coordination for Wireless Radio Applications. Successful candidates will be instrumental in leading a Firmware development team, from concept phase to production to ensure on-time delivery of cutting-edge wireless products. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication, organizational and leadership skills, as well as extensive experience in firmware design and development for complex wireless solutions.

• Provide day to day prioritization and technical guidance to the development team
• Manage task break-down, estimation and resource scheduling for both self and team
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment, and ensuring growth of the team
• Establish clear expectations, hold team members accountable and incentivize proactive issue resolution to deliver cutting-edge products on time and on budget
• Facilitate all project management aspects of the assigned products including managing the firmware work backlog, schedules and coordinating FW activities across the development teams to accomplish committed milestones
• Collaborate with the Architecture Team to understand and translate system-level requirements into efficient and future proof Firmware architecture, for cutting edge wireless radio application
• Design and implement code for wireless communication systems on JMA HW/FW platforms
• Design, develop and execute verification framework to ensure the reliability and functionality of firmware code, targeting continuous development continuous integration goals
• Collaborate with Radio Integration Teams to develop test plans and test cases to validate the functionality and performance of each Firmware application
• Create detailed documentation for FW designs, and integration processes
• Maintain version-controlled documentation to facilitate collaboration and knowledge transfer within the team, and cross-teams
• Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in wireless field
• Explore and recommend new tools, methodologies, and techniques to enhance FW development processes

• Minimum of 5 years leading an embedded software or firmware development team
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in FW design, with a specific emphasis for wireless applications and proven track record of successful implementation and optimization of FW code on wireless applications
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex firmware development projects, strong leadership skills, clear and assertive communication, effective task delegation, and empowerment of team members
• Experience in task break-down, estimation and resource scheduling
• Ability to implement applications using modular, test oriented and scalable solutions
• Full Proficiency in embedded software development in C/C++
• Experience with Linux kernel software, Embedded Linux, U-Boot/kernel development and customization, Linux Device Tree, File system operations
• Used to git and agile workflow is an asset
• Some familiarity with wireless communication protocols (e.g., LTE, 5G) and their FPGA implementation
• Some knowledge of RF systems and signal processing challenges in wireless communication
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and optimize FW solutions
• Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment
• Highly organized, creative, motivated, and passionate about achieving results
