As the Senior UX/Product Designer (Growth) at LawnStarter, you will be a key player in shaping our customer acquisition and engagement experiences. You’ll work closely with our Growth, Product, and Engineering teams to identify friction points, ideate solutions, validate hypotheses through experimentation, and design intuitive experiences that delight our users. This is a high-impact role, with direct influence over how prospective customers and existing users interact with our product—improving engagement, conversion, and lifetime value.
Senior UX/UI Designer
The Senior UX/UI Designer at LawnStarter is responsible for the entire design cycle of given projects, from discovery to design handoff to engineering. This is a highly collaborative role, with the ultimate goal of creating great user experiences through research, innovation, and consistent processes.
What You’ll Do
• Experimentation & Conversion: We believe in thinking in bets and value data-driven decision-making. You’ll lead the UX design for A/B tests, quickly turning hypotheses into testable prototypes, and iterating based on results to drive meaningful improvements in conversion rates.
• Cross-functional Alignment: You will partner with product managers, engineers, marketers, and other stakeholders to create cohesive, consistent user journeys that serve both our business objectives and user needs.
• Design Systems & Consistency: You’ll be responsible for building and maintaining design systems that ensure our brand and experience standards remain consistent across the entire customer lifecycle.
• Rapid Prototyping & Iteration: In a dynamic startup environment, speed is a competitive advantage. You’ll create wireframes, user flows, and high-fidelity prototypes to gather feedback, then pivot quickly based on what you learn.
• Setting User Expectations: LawnStarter’s value hinges on delivering a seamless 5-star experience in the physical world. You’ll help craft clear, trustworthy messaging for our landing pages and sign-up flows, ensuring our users feel at ease at every touchpoint.
Who You Are
• Data-Informed & Experimentation-Driven: You have proven experience designing tests, using data insights to guide design decisions, and iterating quickly based on measurable results.
• Strategic Thinker with Strong Design Instincts: You blend user-centered methodologies with an understanding of business objectives, ensuring that every design decision has both a compelling rationale and a measurable impact.
• Curious & Self-Motivated: You are a self-starter who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment. You love digging into user behavior and exploring new tools and techniques to raise the bar on design excellence.
• Collaborative Relationship Builder: You excel at partnering with cross-functional teams, balancing stakeholder feedback with user needs, and driving projects to successful completion.
• Flexible & Adaptive: You embrace constraints and thrive on iterative feedback loops—recognizing that perfect is the enemy of good in a growth-focused environment.
What You Bring to the Table
• 5+ years of experience designing digital products, ideally with a focus on growth, conversion optimization, or e-commerce.
• Educational background in Human-Computer Interaction, Product Design, or equivalent in-field experience.
• Expertise in modern design tools; we use Figma.
• Low ego, high ownership approach to working in cross-functional team
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal—able to articulate design decisions and the “why” behind them.
