Security Operations Analyst

About Merlin:

About you: 

You are early in your career, but well-rounded in IT security operations and applications.  You understand incident response workflows, endpoint detection and response, network security, and other business security domains. You may also have experience with common enterprise tools such as Defender and Crowdstrike.


Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a focal point for response and remediation of cybersecurity events.
  • Master and leverage security tools to increase security awareness as well as identifying threats, gaps, and vulnerabilities.
  • Support CMMC compliance efforts to protect proprietary and controlled information.
  • Stay informed of the latest threats and attack techniques to drive a continuous evaluation of our security posture.
  • Provide ancillary support to the IT team as needed to ensure business continuity.


Qualifications:
  • Experience in a Security Operations Center (SOC) or recent B.S. in Cybersecurity.
  • Experience with SIEM, EDR, and IDS/IPS tools.
  • Understanding of network security and firewall configurations.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills for threat investigations and reporting. 


Nice to Haves:
  • Security+
  • Clearance or ability to get clearance
  • Familiarity with Crowdstrike, Microsoft Defender, and Microsoft Sentinel


This position is based on-site at Merlin HQ in Boston, MA. We offer flexible hybrid in office schedules.
