Business Development Account Representative

NASA Federal Credit Union is looking for a Business Development Account Representative who can promote the credit union and expand our field of memberships by developing new business relationships. In this highly visible position you will expand our field of membership by developing profitable relationships with established target companies and associations and their Ambassadors.  You will also create and conduct marketing-based activities that promote interest in the Credit Union’s products and services and  

promote the Credit Union to existing SEGs and associations through:  group education, networking events, demonstrations, exhibitions, community fairs, charitable fundraising events etc. This position requires frequent travel by car and experience presenting to groups up to 50 people. Candidate must reside within a 100 mile radius from Upper Marlboro, Maryland or be willing to relocate.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following with other duties as assigned.
  • Identifies prospects, clients, and referral sources and develops/maintains relationships. Support efforts to consistently grow the base of referral sources.
  • Actively manages short- and-long term leads from internal referral sources to qualify members and advance them through the business development process.
  • Manages marketing data using applicable sales management systems or tools (e.g., database, computerized call calendars and time management systems) to maximize efficiency and analyze data/marketing activity on a weekly basis.
  • Effectively presents and discusses the products and services available to prospective members in a way that conveys an image of quality, integrity and superior understanding of customer needs.
  • Selects which internal clients to pursue and when to proceed or discontinue effort to meet CU productivity and ROI goals. Identifies client needs and determines which marketing resources or educational seminar will be used to convey message and build relationship. 
  • Conducts on-site and community-based presentations, seminars and educational sessions that promote the image of our company as a leader in the financial services industry.
  • Performs market assessments, competitor analyses, pricing strategies. Draw conclusions from market assessment data on the competitive environment and the company’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and targets, and provide advice to the AVP and Manager of Business Development.
  • Assists in development of a strategic sales plan that increase company and association penetration, prioritizes activities according to importance and ability to provide results.
  • Develops and execute call schedule that is in alignment with business development strategies and adequately covers assigned territory.  Provide daily reports and data on results.
  • Assists in development of annual business development and marketing strategies in conjunction with the AVP of BD and BD Manager, and the BD team, and identify joint marketing opportunities where applicable.
  • Investigates and resolves client’s problems
  • Keeps current on new technology.
  • Understands and complies with all systems and programs in place.


Education and Experience:
  • Two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred from an accredited college or university
  • Must have experience with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Conducting presentations to groups up to 50 people.
