Job Description

Audio Creative Writers are responsible for the creation and delivery of effective and engaging commercial campaigns for Nine’s radio network and its digital assets. Writers are also involved in creating Powered pitches and mocks for cross platform advertising and integrated content marketing campaigns.

Powered is responsible for the commercialisation of Nine’s content cross platform and creating and delivering partnerships for brands. Within Powered we have the following business units: Strategy, Insights + Effectiveness, Content Partnerships, Content Strategy + Distribution, Commercial Production, Client Experience. 

Day to day you will:

  • Create engaging and compelling audio commercial content for our clients and other teams within the business on a daily basis. 
  • Writing scripts to be produced for on-air commercials, live reads, mocks, promotions and program promo material, podcasts as well as any other general imaging as required across Nine’s Radio and digital stations.
  • Respond to multiple creative briefs with high attention to detail and efficiency on a daily basis.
  • Interact with the sales teams, audio producers, talent, on-air teams and traffic department to ensure the effective on-air delivery of advertising campaigns.    
  • Audition, book and liaise with Voice Over Talent 
  • Leading and conducting client creative territory finding sessions.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports to ensure that all on-air broadcast material complies with Nine Radio standards and brand. 
  • Work with internal stakeholders to implement digital audio campaigns when required
  • Develop a deep understanding of the Nine Audio suite of products and its audience, and the ability to generate ideas, copy and content to solve client problems and engage the right people.
  • Take initiative to create new ideas to pitch to clients and agencies
  • Based in North Sydney, but also working from our Pyrmont studios on a regular basis.
  • Be “on call” after hours where reasonable to manage any issues that arise with programming, production or commercial content

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in writing high-quality commercial scripts for audio.
  • Ability to analyse client needs and interpret for Audio. 
  • Ability to forge strong relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external, with the capability to influence, negotiate and mediate to reach an optimum outcome for all parties.
  • A solutions-focused team player who is flexible and adaptable in responding to the needs of a project.
  • Ability to audition, book and direct Voice Over Talent to achieve high quality results
  • Proven experience delivering to strict deadlines, working on multiple projects and committed to exceeding expectations.
