We seek a Video Game Journalist to join our team at 80.lv. In this role, you will conduct

insightful interviews with game studios worldwide, uncovering the unique stories behind their

creations. You will also craft compelling articles that inform and inspire the global game

development community, showcasing the industry's latest trends, innovations, and

achievements.

80.lv is a leading platform dedicated to the video game development industry. We provide a

between industry professionals.


Responsibilities: Interviewing Game Studios
  • Research and identify innovative game studios, developers, and projects worthy of coverage.
  • Conduct in-depth interviews to uncover the stories behind game development processes, challenges, and successes.
  • Prepare thoughtful and engaging questions to highlight the unique aspects of each studio’s work.
  • Build relationships with game development professionals to maintain a network of industry contacts.

Content Creation
  • Write feature articles based on studio interviews, highlighting their projects, technologies, and creative journeys.
  • Create informative and engaging content on video game development trends, tools, and industry innovations.
  • Ensure all content is well-researched, accurate, and tailored to the professional game development audience.

Research and Insights
  • Stay updated on emerging studios, technologies, and trends in the video game industry.
  • Analyze industry movements to identify potential topics and opportunities for coverage.

Collaboration
  • Work closely with the editorial team to align interviews and content with 80.lv’s strategy and goals.
  • Coordinate with studio representatives to schedule interviews and secure exclusive insights

Editing and Refinement
  • Review, proofread, and refine content to maintain high editorial standards and
  • consistency in tone.


Requirements
  • 2–3 years of professional journalism, writing, or editorial experience, ideally within the video game or entertainment industry.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting interviews and writing in-depth features or investigative pieces.
  • Strong storytelling abilities with exceptional written communication skills.
  • Deep understanding of the video game industry, including development pipelines, trends, and major players.
  • Ability to manage deadlines and work independently in a remote environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, English, or a related field (preferred).


$80,000 - $120,000 a year

The listed range is specific to Los Angeles, CA, and varies based on factors such as location and experience.
