We are seeking a highly motivated intern to join our team in London to support Notebook: a print magazine devoted to the art and the culture of cinema.
You'll work closely with our Publishing and Editorial team, mainly supporting our Publishing Manager with workflow and distribution operations for sending publications to subscribers, stores, events, and to other contacts. You'll support internal timelines and help with fulfilment-related activities while gaining exposure to the day-to-day maintenance of our publishing workflows.
This internship will give you a unique opportunity to learn about the landscape of film-related publishing and the production of an exciting magazine at an advanced project stage, whilst receiving direct mentorship from MUBI’s Publishing and Editorial team. You will develop hands-on administrative experience for the operations around film magazine production and distribution.
This is a 3-month internship ideally starting at the end of April, working 4 days a week between our London office and from home.
Collaborate with our Publishing Manager to keep databases, timelines, and other records accurate and up to date
Work across teams where needed, such as with Creative and Marketing, to plan workflows and activities
Support publishing processes to help ensure deadlines are met before magazine production
Support with magazine checks and the proofreading of copy-edited content
Create and check fulfilment data to ensure shipping documentation is accurate for distribution
Perform ad-hoc administrative functions related to publishing and editorial activities as needed
Excited about print and publishing
Eager to learn by doing, asks plenty of questions, and is energised by a fast-paced culture
A team player with a can-do attitude and keen to multitask with overlapping project deadlines
Detail-oriented and organised, with an aptitude for both written and oral communication
Confident with administrative tasks (or keen to lean!) and able to adapt to various workflows
Experience involving operations work for another organisation, particularly for an arts-based organisation or another publication, is a bonus.
The role includes a monthly paid stipend.
We want to make cinema accessible to everyone. We believe people from different backgrounds bring different ideas that foster innovation and engagement, allowing us to attract great people to develop the best experience for our users.
