Role Overview 🔎

Are you excited about using your experience to redefine how legal technology supports the property industry in the US? As a Legal Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in building and shaping our AI-powered legal assistant - Orbital Copilot. You will use your deep industry expertise to seek along side cutting edge Generative AI technology to transform how real estate law is practiced.

This role is ideal for a US-qualified real estate attorney with a passion for commercial real estate, a deep understanding of legal and title company workflows, and an interest in technology and product.

You’ll get a chance to: 👩‍💻 👨‍💻

• Take ownership of automating specific real estate legal workflows—from initial concept to successful implementation.
• Join a dynamic global team, working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment made up of Legal, AI and Software Engineers, where your expertise helps shape product direction and impact across the world of real estate in the US.
• Build domain-specific knowledge bases and translating real-world legal processes into scalable workflows.
• Contribute to the development of templates and automation blueprints for a variety of US real estate scenarios, such as due diligence for acquisitions, lease reviews, title and survey analysis, and beyond.
• From researching jurisdiction-specific nuances in US property law to helping design features that align with how the real estate industry actually works, your input will directly inform how our product serves legal professionals.

Once you’re up and running, you’ll be expected to make meaningful contributions to our products’ success. It’s a challenging role - but highly rewarding - as we work to redefine how real estate transactions are completed across the US and beyond.

You should apply if: ✍️

• You’re a licensed US attorney with demonstrated experience in commercial real estate transactions, particularly involving acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, real estate finance and/or title and survey review.
• Ideally, you have 4+ years of commercial real estate experience in a law firm, title company or in-house, but strong candidates with less experience will still be considered.
• You can break down real estate due diligence into structured, discrete tasks that can be clearly communicated to a machine or automated process.
• You’re highly tech-literate, comfortable with learning new tools, and have a curious mindset when it comes to exploring how technology can support legal work.
• You’re interested in AI, large language models, and how cutting-edge tools can be applied to the practice of real estate law.
• You may not have done this exact type of role before (very few have!), but you’re resourceful, analytical, and motivated to build a career in LegalTech.

It would also be nice if you:

• Are familiar with LegalTech software within a law firm preferably working with or managing a team of people who interact with AI.
• Have dabbled with any programming, no-code tools, software integrations/plugins or complex SaaS tools for work or personal use hobbies.
• Have some experience in-house as a Real Estate Attorney

• Competitive starting salary of $130k - $180k
