Acquisition Manager, Competitive Campaigns

Patreon is a media and community platform where creators give their biggest fans access to exclusive work and experiences. Over 300k creators are cultivating fandoms and building their businesses each month. Creators can offer free memberships to fans looking to explore more of their work, paid memberships to give access to exclusive media and community, or sell directly to fans with Shops.

Ultimately our goal is simple: fund the creative class. And we're leaders in that space, with:

  • 8B+ earned since Patreon's inception

  • 30M free new memberships in the first year of launching that option, and

  • 10M fans paying each month for exclusive access to creators' work and community.

We're continuing to invest heavily in building the best creator products with the best team in the creator economy and are looking for an Acquisition Manager, Competitive Campaigns to support our mission

This role is based in Los Angeles, New York or San Francisco and open to those who are able to be in-office 2 days per week on a hybrid work model. 

About the Role

This role will be required to leverage their professional networks to convert high potential competitive accounts to Patreon’s core product, membership. In order to do so you must:

  • Identify existing and high potential new leads on competitive platforms

  • Identify product dependencies on deal close and strategically align with product partners to craft a path to close

  • Sell ahead of a product development cycle

  • Quickly assess potential product market fit of creative accounts against membership & Patreon

  • Leverage your creator networks to convert high potential businesses to Patreon’s core product, membership

  • Understand sizing a deal in alignment with business goals and…

  • Negotiate with a high level of skill, always aiming to secure the right partnership for the business, but never putting a creator facing relationship at risk

  • Have proven experience with deal making in the membership, talent, & IP market

About You

  • You possess 6-8 years of sales, partnerships, and dealmaking experience at a membership platform, podcast network, or creator technology platform

  • You have a strong network of ‘creator economy’ talent, producers, and representatives

  • You have a strong grasp on membership market trends & emerging opportunities

  • You have a keen eye for assessing product market fit & predicting digital conversion

  • You are an excellent and experienced negotiator, always aiming to get the most and give the least, but never putting the deal or the relationship at risk

  • You have exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal

  • You like to WIN and have fun doing it!
