People Partner Lead

Who we are

Samsara (NYSE: IOT) is the pioneer of the Connected Operations™ Cloud, which is a platform that enables organizations that depend on physical operations to harness Internet of Things (IoT) data to develop actionable insights and improve their operations. At Samsara, we are helping improve the safety, efficiency and sustainability of the physical operations that power our global economy. Representing more than 40% of global GDP, these industries are the infrastructure of our planet, including agriculture, construction, field services, transportation, and manufacturing — and we are excited to help digitally transform their operations at scale.

Working at Samsara means you’ll help define the future of physical operations and be on a team that’s shaping an exciting array of product solutions, including Video-Based Safety, Vehicle Telematics, Apps and Driver Workflows, Equipment Monitoring, and Site Visibility. As part of a recently public company, you’ll have the autonomy and support to make an impact as we build for the long term.

About the role:

As the People Partner Lead, you’ll be more than a traditional HR Business Partner—you’ll be a trusted advisor, sounding board, and operational catalyst for product leaders and engineers who work on our flagship offerings with proven product-market fit. While the pace is still fast and innovation is paramount, the role also requires supporting teams that must maintain and extend the success of well-established products, ensuring we continue to deliver exceptional quality, reliability, and continual improvement.

You will partner closely with leaders to design organizational structures that keep pace with growth, and create environments where cross-functional teams can iterate, improve, and maintain customer trust. You’ll ensure that the drive for innovation is balanced with the need for operational excellence, using your people strategies to strengthen teams as they build and refine products that are already impacting customers worldwide.

This is a remote position open to candidates based in the US.

We set up our employees for success and have built a culture that encourages rapid career development, countless opportunities to experiment and master your craft in a hyper growth environment.
  • You’re energized by our opportunity: The vision we have to digitize large sectors of the global economy requires your full focus and best efforts to bring forth creative, ambitious ideas for our customers.
  • You want to be with the best: At Samsara, we win together, celebrate together and support each other. You will be surrounded by a high-calibre team that will encourage you to do your best.

In this role, you will:

  • Strategic Advisory: Partner with product managers, engineering leads, and cross-functional stakeholders supporting both core and next-gen products. • Talent Development & Engagement: Spend time with teams—attend stand-ups, product reviews, and planning sessions. Identify skill gaps and emerging talent. Create tailored development pathways that keep experienced contributors engaged while also nurturing newer talent to grow into leadership roles.
  • Performance & Accountability: Foster a high-performance environment that encourages both iterative experimentation and disciplined execution. Coach managers to hold direct, honest performance conversations that emphasize consistent delivery, customer satisfaction, and ongoing innovation.
  • Employee Experience & Retention: Be the advocate and voice for employees at every level. Translate feedback into actionable solutions that strengthen morale, deepen team cohesion, and support retention—ensuring team members are excited to tackle both incremental improvements and significant product leaps.
  • Change Management & Communication: Guide teams through organizational shifts, product pivots, and evolving priorities in the market. Clearly communicate the rationale behind changes, helping everyone understand how sustaining product-market fit and delighting customers ties into the broader innovation journey.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Use people analytics to identify trends in performance, engagement, and retention. Apply these insights to drive continuous improvement, ensuring that our teams remain focused, innovative, and effective at delivering both incremental value and groundbreaking features.

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • Ownership Mindset: You embrace the “it’s all my job” attitude, readily diving into details and solving problems to ensure teams have everything they need to succeed.
  • Startup/Midsize Experience: You’ve thrived in environments blending innovation with pragmatism—balancing quick iteration cycles with the discipline needed to support established, market-leading products.
  • Proven People Partner Leadership: 5+ years in a People Partner, HR Business Partner, or similar role supporting technical or product-focused teams. Experience guiding teams through both scaling and maturation phases is a plus. 8+ years of relevant experience
  • Influence & Communication: You excel at having honest, sometimes tough conversations. Your communication style is direct yet empathetic, building trust and clarity even amid change.
