About Us:

X Games is a globally recognized sports brand that celebrates the extraordinary talents and achievements of athletes pushing the boundaries of action sports. Our events showcase thrilling competitions in skateboarding, BMX, motocross, and more. As we expand our digital presence and engage with a diverse global audience, we are seeking a creative and innovative producer-editor in the action sports space to help X Games reach new audiences, and deeper engage existing ones with best-in-class social content leveraging pop, sports, and internet cultures.

About the Role:

Recently acquired by private equity group MSP Capital, we’re in an exciting rebuilding phase and searching for a highly skilled producer-editor in the action sports space. Reporting to Director of Digital, you will have proven experience producing and editing content that resonates with audiences, and demands interactions and shares across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Snap. You know what good looks like, live for memes, know action sports & popular culture inside out, and take special pride in your storytelling ability with an eye for a good story that elicits emotion. You love action sports and want to tell those stories to the world — and have proven experience helping translate the nuances to broader audiences for growth and engagement purposes. You know the community/s, and how to introduce fresh content to showcase athlete personalities and stories for broader audiences. 

Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate best practice video development, production, shooting, and editing, employing platform best practices to create stories that resonate with new audiences.  
• Be a specialist storyteller.
• Showcase your grasp of pop, internet, sports and music culture, delivering innovative formats (memes, gifs, videos, carousels, etc) designed for engagement and sharing for and beyond core audiences.
• Natural with community management and engagement tactics.
• Work seamlessly with talent and athletes to get provoking content .
• Concept, produce and deliver branded content formats, series etc.
• Work with our Channel Manager, Digital Coordinator, and Content Strategist to stay weeks/months ahead on staple content, campaigns, branded content, and post
• Be across trends as they happen, ensuring X Games shows up in pop culture spaces, and participates or starts trends authentically.
• Craft original copy and responses that meet tone of voice standards.
• Ideate and presents repeatable content franchises for X Games and our partners.
• Work with tools such as Conviva, Sprout, Sprinkler, Slate and Greenfly. 
• Travel to events to shoot live content, produce and edit formats.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Video Production, or a related field. 
• 5+ years of experience in social media, shooting and editing, with a proven track record of successful content 
• Strong understanding of various social media platforms, their nuances, current trends and best practices for audience engagement, reach, and growth. 
• Strong understanding of camera hardware, software, and capabilities 
• Creative and curious mindset with the ability to align efforts with broader content, marketing, and business goals.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Comfortable in ambiguity, biases to action, earns trust, and delivers results.
• Adobe Creative Cloud Expert (efficiency in Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator) as well as social-first editing programs such as Capcut
• Ability to project manage and track your work and expectations 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Action sports expert (skate, bmx, moto, snowboard, ski, surf, etc.)
• Action sports industry and or athlete relationships.
• Experience shooting skate and snow sports.
