    Job Description

    Spear Education is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Junior UI/UX Designer to help shape the user experience across our digital ecosystem. As a key member of our design team, you’ll collaborate with product owners and developers to create intuitive, visually compelling interfaces for various devices and platforms. You’ll focus on designing experiences that enhance user engagement, simplify workflows, and solve real-world problems for our customers. This is an excellent opportunity to grow your design expertise in a supportive and innovative environment.

    Job Duties

    • Design and prototype user-friendly interfaces using Figma, ensuring responsiveness and scalability across devices.
    • Leverage and contribute to Spear’s design system to maintain consistency and streamline development.
    • Collaborate with Product and Development teams to refine prototypes and deliver production-ready assets.
    • Create wireframes, storyboards, and user flows to effectively communicate design ideas.
    • Conduct user research and testing to understand customer pain points and use insights to inform design decisions.
    • Analyze customer data and behavior to recommend strategies that reduce friction and boost engagement.
    • Stay current with design trends and best practices to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
    • Support the creation of scalable, component-based UI elements for use across our platform.
    • Ensure accessibility compliance and usability standards are met in all designs.

    Qualifications

    • 3–5+ years of experience in UI/UX design or a related field.
    • Proficiency in Figma for both design and prototyping.
    • Understanding of responsive design principles and their application to various devices and platforms.
    • Familiarity with design systems and component-based UI frameworks.
    • Basic knowledge of user research methods, including usability testing and data analysis.
    • Strong visual design skills with a keen eye for detail and consistency.
    • Ability to collaborate across teams and effectively communicate design ideas.
    • Self-motivated and eager to learn in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field (preferred but not required).

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience working on SaaS or education-focused digital products.
    • Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive design principles.
    • Exposure to tools like Maze, Clarity, or other analytics and user research platforms.

    Candidates under consideration will be required to submit a professional UI design portfolio for review

    Additional Information

    The general salary target range for this position in Arizona is $85,000 - $105,000 per year. However, the base salary offered may increase (or decrease) based on various factors including but not limited to relevant skills, experience, and location.
