Automation Technical Specialist

Mission Controls & Automation, a SunSource company, provides a full range of motor controls and electrical products to customers in the industrial, manufacturing, construction, pharmaceutical, and energy sectors. We are a fast paced, industrial automation company looking for a candidate that can take ownership of an automation project and follow it through to customer satisfaction. You will work with our sales department and customers to develop automation that ranges from controlling basic OEM equipment to designing SCADA systems.

You will be supported by a group of seasoned integrators with a vast wealth of knowledge and experience. Our team has a proven track record of design, programming and start-up of automation projects throughout the US.


Primary Responsibilities
  • PLC programming and HMI design
  • Onsite and remote equipment start-up (up to 30% travel)
  • Ancillary equipment programming and integration
  • Project documentation


What We Are Looking For
  • 5+ years of demonstrated hands-on Allen Bradley or Siemens PLC/HMI experience
  • Experience with control circuit design/ troubleshooting
  • Electro-mechanical experience
  • VFD knowledge
  • Ability to interpret and apply technical documents quickly
  • Proven track record of successful automation projects


Preferred
  • Electrical Engineering Degree
  • Autocad or Autocad Electrical Experience
  • Motor and PLC control panel design, Product Specification and BOM Generation
  • Ethernet networking knowledge
  • Excel proficiency
  • Experience with database development and queries
  • Experience with Java, Python or scripting
