Business Development Manager

 

Position Summary

This position is responsible for increasing market share within the assigned client base. The Account Executive’s primary responsibilities include establishing new client accounts and driving the sale of new products and services. Key duties involve developing and nurturing customer relationships, identifying new market opportunities, organizing and executing sales efforts within the assigned territory, and achieving predetermined sales goals and objectives.

This role requires substantial telephone communication, familiarity with the Motion Pictures industry, and an understanding of content suitability for various audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Drive new business growth and maximize Motion Pictures’ revenue through strategic sales efforts and customer engagement within company-approved guidelines.
  • Set and achieve sales goals by drafting contracts, maintaining accurate records, and actively contributing to team discussions on sales, marketing, and service strategies.
  • Research and develop new sales leads, leveraging industry insights to build a pipeline of prospective clients.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication, in-person visits, and prompt resolution of service issues.
  • Deliver compelling presentations and attend industry conferences to generate new business, while continually refining strategies based on current marketplace trends.
  • Prepare tailored sales profiles and finalize contracts for new clients, ensuring alignment with both client needs and company standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless onboarding and support for new clients.
  • Proactively analyze client feedback to identify opportunities for service improvement and additional sales opportunities.

Operational Interface

The Business Development Manager works closely with the team in consulting with clients on the renewals, service issues, programming and client concerns.

Organizational Relationships

This position reports to the Sales Director.  Interfaces with customers as a representative of Swank Motion Pictures.  Interfaces with other Motion Pictures departments and personnel as needed.

  • Apply strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks in a high-volume environment, demonstrating initiative, flexibility, and creativity in capturing new business.
  • Conduct customer research to understand needs, anticipate objections, and match products and services effectively to drive sales.
  • Maintain a service-oriented approach and proactive communication skills, ensuring clear, persuasive interactions that address customer needs.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to achieve business goals and support the professional development of team members.

 

Educational Requirements

Bachelor’s degree and 3-6 years sales experience preferred

Professional Requirements

Travel for conferences is required up to 5%
