PURPOSE
The Conrad Blucher Institute for Surveying and Science at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi (TAMU-CC) is inviting applications for an Administrative Associate IV to provide advanced administrative support to the executive team and to support the daily business functions of a dynamic research institute. This position will work under general supervision and be the primary administrative point of contact for the institute.

The Conrad Blucher Institute for Surveying and Science (CBI) at TAMU-CC is a collaborative research environment utilizing geospatial science to support data driven decision making. The institute’s research laboratories develop innovative solutions informed by precise measurements honoring the legacy of the Blucher family and their commitment to surveying and science. CBI pushes the boundaries of geospatial science by applying cutting edge technologies to map, measure, collect and manage big data used to predict our physical environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Administrative Operations: 50%
Process travel and purchasing transactions ensuring adherence with institute and university compliance requirements.
Assist with travel arrangements for Executive Director.
Data collection and archival for special projects.
Assist with record retention duties.
Assist with the hire process and employee onboarding.
Assist with bi-weekly timesheet submissions and approvals.
Assist with access requests and facilities management.
Assist with institute initiatives.
Assist with institute meetings and special events
Operations Support: 30%
Maintain calendars.
Maintain email distribution lists.
Maintain common spaces in the institute.
Greet guests and provide refreshments.
Answer main phone line and direct callers appropriately.
Notetaking/minutes.
Teamwork and Collaboration: 20%
Build relationships with colleagues both within and outside of the institute.
Develop a basic understanding of the work conducted by the institute.
Utilize resources, ask questions, and troubleshoot to complete job duties.
Provide support to the CBI Core team as needed to facilitate IT and research administration transactions.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED.
Four (4) years of related work experience.
Additional education may be considered as a substitution for the minimum experience requirements.
Associates degree and two (2) years of related work experience, OR
Bachelor’s degree
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Strong typing and data entry skills with attention to detail and minimal errors, supporting effective administrative or operational workflows.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
High level of articulation and professionalism.
Exceptional attention to detail.
Critical thinking and proactive problem solving.
Ability to take initiative and identify opportunities for improvement.
Ability to either work in a team environment or independently with minimal guidance.

Work experience in higher education.
Work experience in a research focused organization.
Previous Texas A&M University System experience.
SALARY: Up to $18.27 Hourly ($38,001.60 Annual, Approximately)
