What’s the role?

Tevora is seeking a full-time, temporary People Operations Sr. Generalist to oversee the daily functions and processes of the People Operations team. The People Operations Sr. Generalist will work closely with leaders and employees and facilitate the full employee life-cycle HR programs directed by the Head of People Operations to support the people needs of Tevora. This position is temporary for 3-4 months (but could be extended). This is a hybrid remote position - we work one day per week in our Irvine office to collaborate in person with our team members!


A day in the life could include:
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of our busy People/HR department, including onboarding, benefits, leaves of absence, safety, and other administrative functions, in collaboration with the Head of People Ops, People Operations Manager, Recruiter, and People Operations Coordinator.
  • Update, audit and ensure the accuracy of employee records in HRIS (Namely). Enter new hires, promotions, terminations and benefit changes, and maintain digital records.
  • Coordinate with Payroll to ensure accurate data flow from HRIS to Payroll.
  • Become the HRIS subject matter expert, implement improved system processes and procedures to improve department workflows.
  • Manage the onboarding process, including drafting and sending offer letters, new hire paperwork, onboarding in HRIS, scheduling and conducting orientations.
  • Answer employee questions, act as the key employee contact for the department.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for employees: answer questions, provide information, and resolve any emerging problems with accuracy and efficiency. Troubleshoot to answer any questions and resolve complaints.
  • Immerse yourself in the organization to build productive relationships with internal employees.
  • Oversee the employee performance review and talent development processes, work closely with leaders and employees as an HR Business Partner, assist in Employee Relations issues as needed.
  • Assist with employee engagement efforts and activities.
  • Assist with inquiries related to benefits, 401(k), sick and vacation requests. Coordinate with brokers and recordkeepers/carriers.
  • Ensure the company complies with relevant labor laws and regulations.
  • Develop thoughtful, integrated approaches to promote diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
  • Oversee the termination and exit interview process.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as needed or as new opportunities arise. Proactively support the team with tasks and projects that emerge over time.


Necessary skills and qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of Human Resources experience or bachelor's degree.
  • PHR/SHRM certificate a plus but not required
  • Ability to think strategically and navigate complex matrix environments
  • Basic knowledge in labor relations and CA employment law
  • Excellent people skills including patience, empathy and excellent communication skills.
  • The ability to problem-solve, troubleshoot and investigate to answer questions or resolve complaints.
