Upright is seeking an accomplished, hands-on Head of Sales to spearhead our entry into the DACH region. If you have a proven history of driving high-growth B2B SaaS sales and are eager to build a market from the ground up, this is your chance to actively contribute to our global expansion strategy. This role offers a unique blend of entrepreneurial freedom, impact-driven work, and the opportunity to shape and lead Upright’s presence in one of Europe’s most critical markets.

The Upright Project has developed an industry-leading, scalable approach to double materiality assessments which 50,000+ companies in Europe need to conduct according to the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). We are now on the hunt for a dynamic, German-speaking Head of Sales eager to drive our sales and expand Upright's reach in the DACH region. Upright's data platform is trusted by 300+ corporations and institutional investment organizations, predominantly in Northern Europe and America.

This isn’t just another sales role. It’s your opportunity to build a market from the ground up. Starting as an individual contributor (IC), you’ll define and execute the go-to-market strategy, win the trust of leading organizations, and establish Upright as a key player in the region. Demonstrate success, and you’ll have the chance to scale a team, expand our reach, and leave a lasting impact on the future of sustainability-driven business.

YOUR MISSION:
  • Lead market entry: Own and execute our go-to-market strategy for the DACH region, from identifying prospects to closing high-impact deals.
  • Drive the sales cycle: Manage everything from the first introduction to contract negotiation, ensuring a seamless experience for customers.
  • Be the face of Upright: Act as the trusted partner for potential customers, delivering compelling product demos and sharing the value of Upright’s impact and financial materiality data.
  • Shape the strategy: Collaborate with marketing and SDR teams to refine outreach and messaging for the DACH audience.
  • Lay the foundation for growth: Demonstrate success, and you’ll help shape the team and strategy to scale our impact in the region.

SIGNS OF BEING A GREAT MATCH FOR THIS ROLE INCLUDE:
  • A proven sales leader with a track record of crushing quotas in complex SaaS or B2B sales.
  • Startup/scaleup experience: You thrive in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
  • A self-starter: You don’t just meet expectations - you exceed them, driven by an internal passion for excellence.
  • A hunter with urgency: You know how to manage a pipeline, prioritize opportunities, and close deals efficiently.
  • Fluent in German and English: You’re a natural communicator, capable of building trust and excitement in both languages.

ADDITIONALLY WE’LL CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING AS A PLUS:
  • Familiarity with the EU’s Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and sustainability reporting practices.

WHAT WE OFFER:
  • Opportunity to influence your earnings with a performance-based compensation model, along with stock options, and a comprehensive healthcare package.
  • A chance to join a quickly growing and highly ambitious impact SaaS company with a mission that matters
  • A fun and kind team with exceptional people who care about what they do
  • Exciting professional growth opportunities

Location: Flexibly in Germany, or in Helsinki, Finland.

Deadline: Candidates will be reviewed on a continuous basis and the role will be filled as soon as the right person is found.
