Director of Procurement

The Director of Procurement for Titan Electric will lead, develop, and manage the procurement department for all regional offices. This corporate position is responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies aligned with the organization’s goals and objectives.


The role is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to optimize purchasing activities, subcontract agreements, rebate programs, tool management, and fleet operations. The role involves creating efficient processes, managing vendor relationships, negotiating subcontract terms, and fostering strong supplier partnerships to align with organizational goals. The Director will also oversee purchasing agents and ensure all activities comply with company policies and legal standards.

 

Responsibilities

·         Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize cost savings and operational efficiency.

·         Lead the regional purchasing teams by setting clear goals and providing mentorship.

·         Oversee the procurement process, including requisition, sourcing, purchasing, and delivery.

·         Oversee and coordinate the vehicle fleet and maintenance program.

·         Oversee tool procurement, tracking and job costing.

·         Assist with the management and monitoring of Titan’s rebate programs.

·         Build/maintain strong relationships with suppliers, balancing customer service and competitive pricing.

·         Standardize subcontracts and agreements with vendors to secure favorable terms and conditions.

·         Monitor subcontractor performance and develop a rating system.

·         Assist with resolving issues related to delayed shipments or order discrepancies.

·         Collaborate with Project Managers/other departments to forecast material needs and manage inventory.

·         Monitor vendor and supplier performance and develop a rating system.

·         Assist with resolving issues related to supplier performance or discrepancies.

·         Stay updated on market trends, economic factors, and regulatory changes impacting procurement.

·         Prepare/present reports on procurement, fleet activities, cost analyses, and supplier performance.

·         Maintain knowledge of market rates for goods, establish essential guidelines for approving PO's.

· Create purchasing process.

·         Ensure compliance with company policies and legal regulations in all procurement activities.

 

Qualifications and Required Skills

·         Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

·         8+ years of experience in purchasing or supply chain management, with at least 3 yrs. in leadership role.

·         Strong knowledge of fleet management, tooling  procurement and tracking, and vendor negotiations.

·         Certification in Procurement or Supply Chain Management (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) preferred.

·         Strong negotiation skills, analytical abilities, and organizational skills.

·         Proficiency in procurement software, Microsoft Office, and ERP systems.

·         Ability to travel regionally to oversee purchasing operations and meet with suppliers.

·         Physical ability to perform job requirements, including lifting up to 40 lbs.

· Ability to withstand periods of sitting, standing and walking.
