We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Head of Commercial to lead our commercial efforts at TotallyMoney. Reporting into the COO, you will drive our commercial strategy, oversee revenue generation, and manage a holistic marketplace of UK lenders. Managing a team of four, your leadership will be instrumental in advancing our mission to improve the financial well-being of underserved consumers in the UK. What youâll do:
Revenue generation: Collaborate with Product and CRM colleagues to lead the revenue generation efforts, including lender marketplace optimisation, revenue forecasting, and attainment of revenue targets. Drive initiatives to optimize customer lifetime value and support monitoring the value profile of customers acquired.
Commercial Strategy Development: Develop and execute the company's commercial strategy, aligning it with the overall business objectives. Drive the creation of innovative go-to-market strategies for managing our marketplace of UK lenders and develop our B2B value proposition. Identify market opportunities, segments, and niches for expansion.
Relationship Management: Build and nurture strong customer relationships with UK lenders, ensuring lender satisfaction and long-term loyalty. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address lender needs and capitalise on qualified opportunities. Develop TMâs suite of data products for lenders to create both automated and self-serve insights, alongside a consultancy approach, which is key to our success.
Performance Metrics and Reporting: Define and track key performance metrics related to commercial activities within the lender marketplace, revenue, and market share. Prepare regular reports and presentations for the management team and board.
Operational control: Ensure strong operational controls and processes in place and adhered to in relation to all aspects of the lender marketplace which satisfy lender and regulatory requirements.
Contract Negotiation and Compliance: Lead contract negotiations and manage the execution of agreements with UK lenders, clients and partners. Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements both in contract work and in overall lender marketplace activity â working with internal teams as needed.
Market Analysis and Strategic Planning: Conduct comprehensive market analysis to identify trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs. Use market insights to refine product offerings, drive product development, and identify opportunities for growth. Collaborate closely with the executive team to contribute to the overall strategic planning process.
Leadership and Team Management: Oversee the commercial team dedicated to the lender marketplace, providing strategic guidance, mentorship, and performance management. Develop a high-performing culture, emphasizing collaboration and excellence. Foster a culture of innovation and accountability within the commercial team. Lead, mentor, and develop team members, inspiring them to achieve their full potential.
Qualifications and skills:
1. Experience in a commercial leadership role, ideally within the fintech, financial services, or marketplace industry. Experience in the consumer credit market or in two-sided marketplaces is preferred. Experience in a regulated industry is desirable
2. Team leadership: A collaborative and hands-on approach to leadership, with the ability to build, develop, motivate and coach a high performance commercial team
3. Commercial and data acumen. Strong commercial acumen with experience of initiating, developing and maximizing partnerships. A highly analytical and strategic mind, allowing you to play a key role in shaping the commercial direction of the company. Strong numeracy skills and high level of comfort with data and statistical analysis
4. Partnership Development: forming and managing strategic partnerships and alliances, especially with UK lenders. Ability to leverage partnerships for mutual benefit and business growth.
5. Negotiation Skills: Excellent negotiation and contract management skills, with a proven ability to navigate complex deals and agreements.
6. Communication: Exceptional interpersonal, networking, influencing, and communication skills with the ability to quickly form relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
7. Legal and compliance: A working knowledge of legal and compliance processes ideally within a financial services environment
8. Pro-active approach and decision maker: A strong sense of ownership and willingness to go the extra mile to get things done. A commitment to treating customers fairly, showing consistently good judgement, and a natural affinity with the customer
9. Market Insights: Proficiency in market analysis and ability to translate insights into actionable strategies. Strong analytical skills and data-driven decision-making.
10. Innovation: A forward-thinking mindset with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement within the lender marketplace. Willingness to explore new approaches and challenge the status quo. Ability to develop and execute commercial strategies that drive revenue growth and market expansion, with a specific focus on the lender marketplace.
