The Role

We are hiring a Risk Operations Specialist to join our growing team. Reporting to the Risk Operations Team Lead, the Risk Operations Specialist will play a critical role in the onboarding process. The successful candidate will help protect the company and client by researching, analyzing and making a recommendation for incoming applications. The position is based in New York.

Responsibilities include:

  • Review incoming applications for risk, information verification, and/or technical error.

  • Communicating with Clients and Bank Partners on patterns detected during application reviews

  • Being an escalation point for part-time Risk Operations Associates

  • Underwriting applications and conducting fraud investigations on applications/transactions

  • Responding to Client and internal support inquiries around applications

  • Supporting special projects as needed and help writing policies and procedures. 

What We’re Looking For

  • 2+ years experience in operational support roles. 

  • Knowledge of CIP/KYC/OFAC rules and regulations

  • Knowledge of and experience with finance/fintech/fraud ecosystem - advantage

  • Availability Monday-Friday and designated on-call weekends

  • Strong communication skills with both internal and external customers

  • Interest in a quick fast-paced environment

  • Team mindset and ability to make risk-based decisions
