Our client is a leading shipping company with a vast network spanning 29 countries, ensuring reliable and cost-effective solutions. They handle significant annual cargo capacity and connect key regions across Asia, the Middle East, and Africa with seamless operations. We are looking for a passionate Capacity Manager to join their growing team.

Job Requirements:

Team Leadership and Management:

  • Lead, motivate, and develop a team of 4 cargo flow professionals.
  • Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance reviews.
  • Delegate tasks effectively, ensuring workload is distributed appropriately.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive team environment.
  • Identify training needs and facilitate professional development opportunities.

 Operational Efficiency and Optimization:

  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to cargo flow and take corrective action when necessary.
  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry and reporting.

 Communication and Stakeholder Management:

  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with internal and external stakeholders regarding cargo flow status.
  • Proactively address any inquiries or concerns related to cargo movement.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with key partners.
  • Generate regular reports for management on cargo flow performance.

 Cargo Planning and Execution:

  • Develop and implement cargo flow strategies to ensure optimal vessel space utilization.
  • Monitor daily cargo bookings, vessel schedules, and capacity allocations.
  • Resolve overflows, prioritizing shipments based on company policies and customer agreements.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • Min. 8-10 years’ experience in the shipping industry ideally having been in roles in capacity/cargo flow, commercial and/or trade.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Effective leadership and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in cargo flow management systems and data analysis tools.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
