Clinical Applications Trainer

USA Clinics Group is seeking an organized and motivated Clinical Applications Trainer, to join or Corporate team! The Clinical Applications Trainer works collaboratively with the clinical departments and Information Technology, participating in the design, implementation and maintenance of clinical information systems as they apply to clinical services within our clinics.

Responsibilities

EMR, Clinical Applications Training & Curriculum

  • Design, develop, and implement engaging EMR/Clinical Application training programs tailored to a variety of learner levels, from new hires to advanced users.
  • Create comprehensive training materials, including e-learning modules, user manuals, quick reference guides, video tutorials, and job aids.
  • Deliver in-person and virtual sessions to diverse clinical teams across multiple departments, including provider and clinical team members.
  • Develop curriculum updates based on system upgrades, new feature rollouts, and changing clinical workflows

Clinical Support

  • Act as the primary point of contact for EMR users, addressing their questions and challenges, and escalating issues as appropriate.
  • Serve as a liaison between the EMR Applications Team and senior clinical leadership to ensure the EMR system is effectively supporting clinical workflows and patient care initiatives.
  • Regularly engage with senior leadership to provide updates on training progress, identify areas for improvement, and make recommendations for system or workflow changes.
  • Serve as a resource person for daily operational issues within the electronic health record.
  • Provide orientation and training for EMR and clinical applications for providers and clinical staff. This may occasionally occur outside normal business hours.
  • Provide continuing education of changes of clinical applications for providers and clinical staff.
  • Analyze and prioritize work requests that are related to clinical information systems and clinical processes.

Continuous Improvement & Evaluation

  • Conduct ongoing assessments of training effectiveness through user feedback, performance metrics, and system usage data to continually improve the training experience.
  • Stay current on best practices in EMR training, curriculum development, and healthcare technology, implementing innovative approaches to training and support.
  • Create and maintain detailed training records, reports, and documentation for compliance and quality assurance purposes.
  • Actively participate in planning, development, implementation, upgrading, maintenance, and evaluation of clinical information systems.
  • Maintain components of the clinical information systems, including revisions, testing system changes, and integration of changes into the clinical environment.
  • Assist with system customization including the development of alerts/hard stops, data integration, order generation, automation of documentation and enforcement of adherence to workflows.
  • Champions the clinical workflow and processes essential for the adoption of new technology and processes.
  • Adhere to compliance with all Federal Guidelines for HIPAA.
  • Additional duties as assigned

Must-Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in technical writing training, preferably with EMR training and support.
  • Past experience with database programming (basic knowledge of SQL, familiar with relational database concept)
  • Ability to effectively translate complex EMR system information into user-friendly training content.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • High level of technical proficiency with EMR systems, e-learning platforms, and training software.
  • Skilled in relationship building and fostering collaborative, cross-functional partnerships.
  • Ability to travel to different facilities or clinical sites as needed.
  • Strong analytical skills for evaluating training effectiveness and making data-driven decisions.
  • Strong knowledge of curriculum creation principles, adult learning theory, and training methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence diverse audiences.
