Job Description

Visa’s Technology Organization is a community of problem solvers and innovators reshaping the future of commerce.   We operate the world’s most sophisticated processing networks capable of handling more than 65k secure transactions a second across 80M merchants, 15k Financial Institutions, and billions of everyday people.   While working with us you’ll get to work on complex distributed systems and solve massive scale problems centered on new payment flows, business and data solutions, cyber security, and B2C platforms.     

Value Added Services Product Development (VAS PD) department aims to support Visa’s Global Product strategy of growing our business through product offerings that add value to the payments experience and to capitalize on emerging market opportunities in regional payment networks and digital wallets.

VAS PD team is responsible for architecture, design, and development of Visa's digital and mobile products, including Secure Remote Commerce, Visa Token Services, Push Payments, and Visa Digital Commerce App.

In this position, as Software Engineer, you will be part of the Risk and Identity Solution Team contributing to the backend development of B2C IAM to enable secure access to Visa digital solutions through all types of channels – web, mobile, and device.  You will be a key contributor to the innovations in the B2C Consumer and Device spaces.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working closely with engineering leads, engineers, product manager, architects and client support teams, lead product development throughout the entire development cycle. This role requires logical thinking, possesses a breadth of knowledge on applying technology, quick troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

  • Work as a member of a team responsible for designing, developing and maintaining Visa's products.

  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and proactively assess and evaluate the adoption thereof into the organization.

  • Perform proof of concepts and other technical evaluations on new technologies, designs, and solutions.

  • Be flexible to accommodate cross-region team development/collaboration and address urgent production issues.

  • Participate in design and code review sessions as appropriate to ensure the quality of work delivered by self and teammates are in accordance with development standards.

  • Interact with business units to define requirements/modifications and use case to utilize in designing appropriate solutions.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, OR 3+ years of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 or more years of work experience
  • Experience in Java language, Spring, Hibernate, Containers, Microservices, Docker, Spark, Design patterns & Kubernetes
  • Experience in API Development using SOAP or REST, JSON and XML
  • Experience in SQL and/or PL/SQL
  • Ability to solve complex software development/design issues
  • Ability to write clean, coherent code following established coding guidelines
  • Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and effective communication skills (both written and verbal) and the ability to present complex ideas in a clear, concise way
  • Experience developing as part of Agile/Scrum team is preferred
  • Passionate about delivering zero defect code that meet or exceed the proposed defect SLA and have high sense of accountability for quality and timeliness of deliverables
  • Ability to deliver on multiple projects and manage priorities based on changing directions
  • Highly driven, resourceful and results oriented
