Engineering Manager

Vivid Money is an innovative FinTech startup offering a unique mobile banking app for business and personal customers. We’re seeking a talented and experienced Engineering Manager (JVM) to lead our engineering teams at Vivid Money. In this leadership role, you will oversee multiple teams, including back-end, mobile, and web development, ensuring they operate efficiently and effectively.

You will play a crucial part in product development, project management, hiring, and fostering innovation within the teams. Your leadership will help shape our financial products' future and drive our engineering department's growth.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage multiple engineering teams.
  • Establish goals and objectives for each team, ensuring they are met consistently.
  • Monitor and improve team velocity to ensure timely delivery of projects.
  • Make key technical decisions, design solutions, negotiate with teams, and define deliverables and deadlines.
  • Recruit new team members, ensuring the right talent is brought on board.
  • Provide clear goals and objectives for engineers, fostering their growth through performance reviews and continuous feedback.
  • Drive innovation by introducing new ideas, approaches, and techniques to enhance the product and support team development.
  • Proven work experience as an Engineering manager or in a similar leadership role.
  • Excellent communication skills to supervise staff and collaborate with other managers.
  • 5+ years of experience in a developer position.
  • Familiarity with industry development standards and technologies such as AWS, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, Apache Kafka.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and strategic thinking.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced startup environment and manage evolving project requirements.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • We have a Hybrid model in one of our offices (Berlin, Limassol, Almaty) or fully remote outside office locations.
  • We support relocation (visa, package) to Cyprus.
