Job Description

As the Deputy Program Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing our design-build projects.  This role requires a dedicated professional capable of managing complex design-build projects in an Owner's Representative role on a highly complex mega project program. 

The Deputy Program Manager will report to the Program Manager for Construction and will work with the on-site project teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the overall project execution of our design-build initiatives, ensuring adherence to design specifications, budget constraints, and schedule requirements.
  • Collaborate with the design-build team to develop and implement efficient project plans and strategies.
  • Oversee administrative functions including design-builder’s adherence to the design-build agreement, contract performance monitoring, review of payment requisitions, and maintenance of project schedules and budget projections.
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate project records and documentation.
  • Review design-builder change orders, while maintaining budget integrity and producing accurate financial reports.
  • Establish and maintain stakeholder relationships by offering consistent updates. 
  • Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor project progress and ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Promote and enforce a culture of safety across all project sites and operations.
  • Provide on-site leadership and guidance to the project team in the challenging construction environment of New York City.
  • Travel within the 4 boroughs of NYC; Bronx, Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn. 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or related field + 10 years of experience in construction projects of various complexity, including 2 years in a leadership role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 15 years of experience in construction projects, including 7 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Experience interfacing with NYC agencies with jurisdiction.
  • Track record of successfully leading large-scale high rise construction projects using traditional and design-build project delivery methods.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to build relationships and foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Proficiency in construction management software, project management tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with working as a Consultant (Owner’s Representative role) and/or Contractor (Project Manager or greater role).
