Manager, Data - Allegro Pay

Job Description

Allegro Pay is the largest and fastest-growing fintech in Central Europe - the only place where financial solutions can be created on such a large scale using the latest technologies. We specialize in payment methods used daily by customers of Allegro, the most popular shopping platform in Poland and one of the largest e-commerce companies in Europe. Thanks to this scale, we have the opportunity to work with one of the most interesting data sets in our country, the use of which requires maintaining a high level of data platform.

In short, as a Manager, Data, you will manage a 5-person team whose main goals are the development and maintenance of data products addressing the needs of all financial services offered on the Allegro platform and created based on Data Mesh architecture. Specifically, the team is involved in:

  • designing the analytical layer for all new financial services
  • coordinating the data collection process in the data mesh methodology
  • designing changes in this process depending on the product characteristics
  • setting data quality metrics and leading projects to improve them
  • optimizing the architecture and SLA for creating analytical entities from data mesh events
  • managing the BI platform
  • managing the metadata catalog of products
  • co-creating and optimizing data governance processes.

Technologies you’ll encounter on the job are (among others): Composer, Airflow, Python, Snowflake, Snowpark, DBT, SQL, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Tableau, BigQuery.

We target our offer to people who:

  • Have experience in leading a team or managing projects whose scope aligns with the team's responsibilities
  • Have 2+ years of hands-on experience in developing ETL/DWH processes and 5+ years of experience in the area of customer analytics
  • Have a vision for a highly functional data area and communication skills that will enable its implementation
  • Have experience working with Data Platform Engineers and Software Engineers
  • Program in Python/PySpark and SQL - know the strengths and weaknesses of these technologies
  • Have experience working with Google Composer/Airflow or another scheduler operating in a CI/CD mode
  • Enjoy working with data and take pleasure in maintaining high-quality data products
  • Know English language on at least C1 level

Also welcome:

  • Experience with Data Mesh methodology
  • Experience in automating data governance processes 
  • Experience in managing a BI platform (e.g., Tableau Server)
